If you’re an anarchist why are you invoking a statist argument like “we must get the state to reverse its own court decision, then things will be better”?

It’s weird because I’m a Marxist-Leninist, the kindest thing I’d expect to be called by an anarchist is “statist” but the roles are weirdly reversed here.

My bottom line is the US does not magically become more democratic if you repeal citizens united. What you actually need to do is organize dual power wherever you can, and anti-imperialism is priority one

People dont listen when you tell them to abolish the state. But every fucken lib on a 6000 mile radius will when I talk about Citizens United. Cutting off any lever of oligarch power is good, and in capitalism, does make the state easier to dissolve. Thats my rationale. I am not focused on perfect. I really dont see how anyone can say with a straight face that removing legal bribery wont do anything. Countless studies have been done and it turns out unlimited campaign donations reduces everyone’s power but the obscenely rich. https://rooseveltinstitute.org/publications/citizens-united-15-years-later/

Anarchism needs democracy. I dont know where social came from. Democracy is its own thing, and anarchism is its own thing, and together they make a great society.

Because “let’s repeal citizens united so the US government is more functional and the working class gets more treats” is… like, completely antithetical to anarchism but it’s what a lot of social democrats in the US like Burning Sandals say.

Its a step in the right direction. Gotta push for those in between the black bloc. If the right is gonna flood the zone why shouldnt we push all we can? Like I genuinely dont understand this “oh? You’re an anarchist? And yet you participate in the society you live in?” Attitude.

I don’t even necessarily disagree that citizens united going away might have a couple minor benefits but yeah the idea of making the US state better and getting it to give US workers better treats is pretty far afield of anything considered to be anarchist theory or practice.

Hence my social democracy question because to me you sound a lot more like a confused social democrat mislabeling yourself than an anarchist.
