How many actually want to see it though? Fans of the movies and series are nostalgic for those actors and I’m not sure how many will be won over by an obvious nostalgia cash grab.
It might actually do well in the global south where kids are given Harry Potter to learn English and are the new nostalgic demographic for something like this.
The game was one of the best selling of the year. There are people who will mindlessly buy into anything because it’s Harry Potter the same way there are people who will mindlessly buy into anything because it’s Star Wars or Marvel.
I really want to believe it will be a flop, but while it definitely won’t do as well as the movies, I’m not putting too much stock into consoomers having a backbone.
Yeah I don’t think it’ll flop unless it’s genuinely bad. Maybe ina few seasons it’ll lose viewership if it’s mid but otherwise it’s probably guaranteed a win for HBO.

I pirated the game and I get the appeal. The mechanics are fun and all. Although there is no Fucking way JK Rowling is getting my money.

Nah it’s way better than Ubisoft Slop. The world is pretty small. I want a game like this set in some other universe.
sadly, the game did pretty well afaik and the franchise still prints money, it’s the meat-eating of literature
I feel like HP fans are like Pokemon fans, they consume everything, no matter how shit it is.
I think the one exception is that awful play, they all hate that one
