wojak-nooo um aktually he was arrested for not having a food license and could have made them all sick and might as well have been killing them and thats why only licensed businesses should be feeding the homeless during charity drives so they can write off their taxes and take donations and pocket like 80% of the money and and and and and and…

This was literally the reasoning they used to shut down my local food not bombs free kitchen. Not only were we more rigorous than most local restaurants about food safety but we were also distributing sanitizer and masks in covid safety packages back in 2020.

Fuck this fucking country anything else I have to add is illegal-to-say

yeah it’s infuriating. i worked with a local Food not Bombs (ex and a friend were occasional volunteers) a long time ago on the supply end never on the actual food distribution but even back then they were getting chased all around the city

it completely upended my entire worldview on homelessness

Guy goes to the DPRK to intentionally try and humiliate the DPRK, gets arrested and everyone loses their minds

Guy goes to LA to feed the homeless, gets arrested and it’s all reasonable because permits, regulations, laws, etc, also Xina prop Uganda or whatever

idk much about reddit these days but I’ve never seen such a normal reddit thread. I’m guessing that sub will be banned by the end of next week lol.

That’s literally the official subreddit of Jing Jing, a Chinese reporter from CGTN, so it’s all good.

Her subreddit used to be so, so bad though, since it didn’t have any moderation, every post would have the most frothing at the mouth racist redditors hurling the most vile shit.

Breadtube if it didn’t suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It’s open submission unless there’s something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it’s currently in.
