I get my heating and hot water from a heat pump, don’t even have a gas connection anymore. Disconnecting that saves me around £100 a year on the standing charge for the gas connection and my house isn’t constantly spewing out exhaust which is quite nice. Next up, powering it from solar.
Plus HPWHs dehumidify the air around them, which is typically good in the places you keep them.
My heat pump is a single outdoor unit that does both central heating and hot water. Got a portable dehumidifier, not sure if it’s enough sometimes. Think I need new windows so less condensation builds up on them and then trickles down soaking into the wood and then walk below. Every window is blown double glazing.
Trickle vents and maybe a single MVHR unit for the bathroom that turns on based on humidity could also be helpful. It’s not too bad but occasionally get mould in some corners that needs to be cleaned up.
