fwiw I have — both the stereotypical “I’m 1/X native American” and also “I’m X% Dutch”, the latter due to folks taking pride in having Dutch heritage, real or imagined, where I grew up.

Why can’t people take pride in their roots?
I still don’t think simply knowing one’s history or saying it in conversation is bragging.
I wasn’t arguing against it, I was saying that it does happen.
I just don’t consider that bragging.
