they actually are. they make webs in unobtrusive places and if a spot gets disturbed they go somewhere different. and bounce around so you definitely see them and don’t run into them
unlike barn spiders. they come across as big dum dumbs some time. just like “weeelp let’s make a full sized web right in this front doorway that will be obliterated and scare the shit out of someone, but hey it’s good eatin!”
golden spiders are also polite but they love offloading their children onto you for generations. finally saw the last of them off that were hiding behind a tarp and i put them on my fig plant to balloon away
i love spiders, there’s a few in my room that build their webs in the corners and in return i don’t have any bugs in my room. well except for isopods whom are probably also helping with bugs not getting in my room by getting rid of accidental food waste
it makes me sad that people are so scared of such lovely creatures when living with them really can improve your environment
my partner is an arachnopobe so it’s been a very long journey. childhood trauma through association so it’s tough to crack with exposure
meanwhile i had some ambient fear when young, but later i would feed ones in my yard and got in rock fights against neighboorhood kids trying to step on our semi-domesticated grass spider mega-webs.
not sure when it happened before or after but i had a dream that a spider goddess ambushed me in the dark woods by her children tangling me up and politely told me they wouldn’t hurt me if i didn’t hurt them so i guess i made some kind of deal

jumping spiders are just 8 legged cats.

The only spiders I hate are the ones that nest in the car wing mirrors. Ffs go live in another place, not there!!
yeah it’s not even a good spot for a web maybe they just want a ride
