Why are you regularly bathing your cats? After they get to a certain age they are self-cleaning

But then when they get to a different certain age, the self-cleaning software (or hardware) fails on some models, and there really isn’t a way to fix it, parts no longer available and all, so you have to manually do the washing.

It’s good prudence to clean them once a year to deal with things the dogs or myself might’ve brought in. Dogs especially. Also one of my cat’s is old and can’t really clean himself entirely.

It’s true one shouldn’t bathe them more than that, as it would cause skin issues.

Yes, those are things we are very careful about. We turn them into burritos with towel bread and dry them with a hair dryer at medium setting, making sure not to get too close to not burn their skin toast them too much.

It’s quite a bit of work, but it’s worth it to ensure there’s no bits of oil or cleaning chemicals or whatever else stuck in their fur that they’re having trouble getting out and shouldn’t be licking in the first place.
