$150 per flight round trip twice a week and the article says he only takes 2 classes per week, so he’s flying in and out on the same day with no need to be in Vancouver during a longer period of time.
This really highlights the disconnect between money and material reality. So much of capitalist society is built in a way where things that make financial sense are absolutely devastating for the natural world and a complete waste of resources. I can’t predict the future but I think any people living in the probable post capitalist resource scarcity plagued societies will curse the generations from this capitalist death drive era.
Don’t worry, plane rides will go up in price soon thanks to shortages and then the landlords will be fine. Thank god for that, we wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to them…
I can’t with Reddit liberals. Giving their son more money than 40% of people working in Vancouver make for his 3 hours of classes per week is appearantly the perfect way to teach him about financial responsibility.
I know a fair few Bristol university students have had to live in Wales and get the train each day because of the prices.
A fate worse than death: living in Wales
stale take
hey now, it’s the second best country on that island
Its time to put to bed the myth that Scotland are any good
They’ve been dogs of empire since empire began
Scots made up over a third of British slave traders despite representing only 10% of the British population.
Wales are better
Someone in the comments is mentioning the UC Berkeley student who flew up from SoCal for classes.
If your parents don’t want you out of the house yet, that’s usually the cheapest option.
Jeez and here I thought my commute in school was bullshit.
Booooo! Reddit links suck! Who reads that site, seriously. That’s where the alt-right got started.
the alt-right as an internet phenomenon started on somethingawful and then moved to 4chan
/r/The_Donald is where it caught fire and went mainstream. It’s forgotten today but they dominated /all day after day after day during the 2016 campaign. WIthout Reddit’s support Trump would be a laughingstock today like Ross Perot.
Hillary Clinton criticizing Trump and the alt-right is what made the alt-right mainstream.
But yes reddit was one of the main platforms that not only didn’t deplatform the alt-right but also changed their algorithm in favor of the _donald.
