I honestly wouldn’t read too much into these bunkers. Wealth inequality is the bigger issue. Zuck has a net worth of about $220 billion. $100 million to Zuck is like a middle class family with a net worth of $300k spending $136. An underground bunker for Zuck is like dinner and a few drinks for most people.
So why do they have bunkers? Because they can. If you could build a doomsday bunker under your house for a hundred bucks, wouldn’t you? People invest far more than that in storm shelters. Read something sinister into it if you want. But this seems like a “because we can” expense more than anything.
This is a reasonable analysis. I guess because we are in a (silent) Cold War 2.0 and the world population became disillusioned with globalisation, billionaires building their own bunker is their insurance policy should the world is thrown into another chaos. After all, many countries who could afford did build bunkers for their citizens during the first Cold War, in case we decide launch nukes and extinct ourselves. Billionaires building their own bunkers is not different.
But on the one hand, there could be something intentionally sinister. Several billionaires, especially Peter Thiel and Elon Musk, are accelerationists. They see the world is going to end and so might as well speed it up and get on with. Although, they want to rule the ashes after. That’s their idea.
It’s his version of a mancave.
He is building a bunker mistakenly thinking it will not be his tomb.
Cosplaying a “survivor”
Why is a horde of geese raising the usaian flag? Because usaians aren’t doing s***
In fact, they elected a rapist to president and their reaction to a major pedophile conspiracy being uncovered in their government is to seethe on the interwebs
Hawaii?
He purchased a shit ton of land there and the locals didn’t like it a few years ago. I’m not up to date on what’s going on now but I did want to share that he had some fuckass picture of himself with a phat ass paddleboarding slathered in sunscreen that was lightly memed although it didn’t catch on, and the theory was that he did it so that when you google Zuckerberg Hawai’i that picture would show up instead of his land grab. Thought that was interesting.

The response from overseas is sort of confusing. He’s a dictator. He doesn’t need to be voted for. That’s not how being a dictator works. Dictators always say that they won the vote, but they didn’t. We have an electoral college which was established when black men won their right to vote, so we didn’t elect our presidents in the past, not even under “normal” circumstances before the establishment of this regime. Our political system hasn’t ever worked the way you imagine, at least not to my knowledge.
The ‘response from overseas’ comes from a decade of watching trump politics gain favour in the US. Massive rallies about making America great again, and taking your country back rhetorics, even after all the Epstein stuff came about, the religion of trump flourished in America.
Sure, you can claim that he’s a dictator now. But only because americans have allowed him to become one. That’s why the overall sentiment from the rest of the world is negative. Americans made this monster, and now it’s the world that has to deal with his bullshit.
That’s not to say america wasn’t already fucking everyone else over, that’s the American way and has been happening since they discovered stars and put them on fabric. But Trump has exacerbated that issue, and the American people are complicit for supporting the growth of such a monster; it’s fresh to Americans, because now even the American people are on the receiving end. But for the rest of us, this is the same story just worse.
I’m not saying this applies to you personally btw, I’m just trying to share the honest sentiment around Americans as a whole. There will undoubtedly be exceptions to the rule, but from an overseas perspective, there’s been nowhere near enough.

Those are on TV (edit: or on the news). Those rallies aren’t “massive” according to the reports I’ve read, and they do not take place in my part of the country, so I have no idea how big they really are. I’ve read reports of smallish crowds, rather than the large crowds Trump reports. One of us is probably believing propaganda, but I have no idea which one.

That isn’t how power works in my country.
American people are complicit for supporting the growth of such a monster;
If you have a plan on how we should free ourselves, I’m all ears.
I’m not saying this applies to you personally btw, I’m just trying to share the honest sentiment around Americans as a whole.
Do you visit here often? What are you basing this opinion on?
Ah so you weren’t interested in the overseas sentiment at all, you’re just looking to excuse yourself from the culpability.
Atleast we know which category you fit in I guess.
…what? No. I’m genuinely asking how you came to this conclusion. It seems like you got here by viewing propaganda and not by talking to Americans in real life. I don’t want to make that assumption about you, and that’s why I’m asking for clarity. I didn’t vote for Trump. My part of the country holds massive rallies against him, and I know they’re massive because I can see them with my eyes.
How did you come to this conclusion? Was it from reading the news? Watching TV? Talking to people? Do you know a lot of American Trump supporters? I know a few of them, but I wouldn’t say they are the majority, they are mostly very old people who watch Fox News all day and are in mental decline. I don’t know these people in a social context. I do not see the world from the news reflected in my day to day. Support for Trump is, from my perspective, entirely manufactured by the media.
edit: Even if it wasn’t… we can’t vote him out, and we couldn’t vote him in. We can’t meaningfully vote for the president.
And if you hate Trump so much, how come that’s my fault and not Trumps? How come you let Trump into your country and let him shake hands with your leaders, but you won’t let me seek asylum?

Like the majority of Americans, I am being targeted by this regime. This regime has promised to exterminate me, my relatives, my friends, and the people who live in my neighborhood. ICE took three of my neighbors a few weeks ago.
How that my fault? Why does Trump deserve to go to Europe, but not me?
you’ve got a wild epistemological process. you say you only know a few boomer trump supporters, well it’s my whole class. it’s most the people at my work and notably it’s ALL the owners/management. so now what, you say maga support isnt visible in your life i say I’m suffocated by it. how do we reconcile? i say that rhetorically because they teach this shit in school, there is a right answer.
Ah so you weren’t interested in the overseas sentiment at all, you’re just looking to excuse yourself from the culpability.
DING DING DING
???
Because they think a bunker will help them. Eventually people will get so pissed off that even the oligarchs own guards are a risk to them.
That’s why the oligarchs are intent on accelerating the development of AI. They want robot guards that they could have more control over.
It’s a bunker only if they are the ones who can open the door.
It would be so fucking funny if nuclear war, instead of some intercontinental nightmare, was just an american civil war.
Well, technically it would still be bad news, but just think about irony…
Zuck:
My actions might lead to the most anti social behavior ever conceived including: genocide; cataclysm; and living in a hole in the ground
My mom:
“Likes anti-trans propaganda on Facebook”
It’s got plenty of uses! Like… Hunting!
They know exactly how unstable Donald is
hes building his replacement android bodies, incase the current one gets destroyed he can just upload to a new android body.
Knowing how freaky these tech bros are they probably have people captive in them
With suicide collars on their butler’s.
Im pretty sure we could starve him out or just seal him in indefinitely to become his body guards concubine
Rape jokes are never funny
Maybe they meant seducing the bodyguard into living in zuck’s compound in his place.
He’s got to have vents somewhere. I say we poop in his vents.
Ig he’ll have enough food in there to last a lifetime.
As long as he never leaves I’m cool with it
Well, he’s certainly not going down there unless the earth is scorched so…
To be honest, if I were a tech billionaire, I’d do the same. Not in fear or anything, but to show off how well it was thought out.
When the end comes he’s gonna either fish for the community or become bait for the community fishermen.
100% within the first few weeks Zuck gets overpowered by his security team and put out on his arse.
Zuck building a bunker for his ex-military head of security who will murder him instantly.
Murder him? Nahh put the explosive collar on his neck with help of the IT guy and make him a bitch boy.
People refusing to work for them would put a quick end to them.
They need us way more than we need them. They’re the parasites, we’re the hosts.
If you know someone who works directly under a billionaire’s umbrella, shame them. Make it uncool to work at Meta, or SpaceX, selling Teslas, or Amazon at any level. Make it uncool to work on their yachts, or in their homes, or as their driver, etc.
We DO have the power, we need to exercise it together.
I 90% agree with, but given the state of the economy, lots of people gotta pay the bills and finding another job is difficult if not impossible right now. And that’s exactly by design. Not to mention working inside one of these companies comes with the potential for sabotage. Maybe lets not shame people who don’t get the luxury of choice right now.
And of course, encourage union participation as well as any form of sabotage that one can perform that won’t end in the death or harm of innocents.
Those companies haven’t been “cool” to work at for a while now, but they’re prestigious because they pay so much and people care about money and status.
Making it uncoool is cool, but more importantly, unionize.
Make it uncool to work on their yachts, or in their homes, or as their driver, etc.
Hang on a sec, some of these jobs come with the opportunity to, uh, do something very cool.
