He got a chance to step down sort-of-honourably, and probably pull a bit of retirement monnies… just like his buddy Orbán. Why would you cling to this ceremonial job and risk being spat out in public, like the small crook that you actually are, and be left with nothing?

Why would Magyar force out the president before anything bad has happened? That doesn’t look good either. Shouldn’t that only happen if the president abuses his veto powers? If it is only a ceremonial job, why not be a graceful winner and let him fulfill his term?

Why would Magyar force out the president

Why not? The current President was appointed under Orban, whom has infected and corrupted most Top functions. Time to clean up:

“While mostly a ceremonial role, Hungary’s president is responsible for signing legislation into law and has the power to send bills passed by parliament to the constitutional court for review, raising concerns among supporters of the new government that he could use that power to obstruct its plans.”

          Why no?

Because there is a split of power. Giving Magyar the power to change the president goes against the democratic values that we hope he brings back.

This is the guy who removed the word Russian from a post he made about a missile attack on civilians after the fact to fit with government narrative.

He’s not fit to represent the Republic.

I’d not like Magyar to choose his successor, but he’s got to go.
