Imagine if we didn’t have the inefficiency of having to wait for people with far too much to do this sort of thing.

yeah I sorta do get annoyed with charity for things that should be handled as a matter of course. we should collect taxes and have these programs run by the state.

Why would we help older people when we can overpay for another fighter jet to replace the ones that got shot down in a war nobody wanted? Seriously, think of all the children we can bomb with the tax money you think should be spent on feeding the weak.

Scott’s $70 million donation is just a drop in the bucket of her $26 billion philanthropic streak since 2020. The early Amazon employee and ex-wife of Jeff Bezos worth $41.1 billion is rewriting the playbook of billionaire philanthropy.

Credit when credit is due, MacKenzie Scott seems to genuine want to help society.

However, taxing billionaires would allow us to fix problems instead of relying upon the good will of billionaires.

No wonder Bezos left her. She actually has some kind of heart and he couldn’t stand it

yeah, the string attached is that she could’ve decided not to do that. Not that it isn’t good that she did but sheesh the bar is on the floor for things to happen beyond the goodness of any particular individual

You’ll never convince me she wasn’t the success behind Amazon.
