There’s no chance of screwworms meaningfully invading Canada.

Simply not warm enough. The southern US? Prime real estate.

A decade ago it wasn’t warm enough.

A decade ago, I wasn’t considering 30 degree highs in May and June normal.

Still gets too cold in the winter for screwworms to become endemic THIS decade. But they can thrive in the summer months in imported cattle; with a 37 day cycle, they can hang around long enough to do damage right now.

We can’t depend on climate to protect us indefinitely.

        A decade?

Hahahaha. Climate is the only thing that will protect you indefinitely. Without climate and seasons, gg.

That’s what people said about the mountain pine beetle, until the winters weren’t cold enough anymore and thousands of hectares of forest died, which then became forest fires. Now it’s not a matter of if, but how many forest fires BC will have.

Being proactive now will reduce the problem later.

        Nah. You’re playing with inevitability.

The worms always win in the end, worm food.
