        At cost of causing decades long split between USA and allies. There is no take backsies on openly threatening to invade and annex an ally. Not even for the next POTUS and POTUS after that.

        Mainly the guestion in Europe has been/is Where is the rest of the USA. Rest of the USA didn’t stop this guy, so all of USA is not to be trusted. Either due to not caring or due to not being able to curtail the POTUS. Doesn’t really matter which the reason is, end result is the same. USA is a 4 year electoral absolute monarchy and such governance can’t be trusted for long term alliance. Since it resets potentially every 4 years.
