Chemo sucks. It will probably make him cranky, irritable, and tired.

It can be hard to consume enough calories due to the nausea. Juices help a lot, but not too much orange juice because it’s pretty acidic.

Avocado and eggs pack a great nutrient and calorie punch.

And make sure to take time for yourself. Schedule it so that you get your space and your time before you reach your own breaking point. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, so conserve your emotional energy as a precious resource. For your own sake but also for his.

Probably he’s going to be an insufferable mix of irritated, tired, nauseas, and generally sick of that shit and unpleasant to be around so mentally prepare yourself for that and plan accordingly.

Comrade, I’m sorry you’re dealing with all this. I truly wish you both the best possible outcome.

If the docs say the treatment is good with a specific cancer then he has a sporting chance… Sorry you have to go through this. Best thing for everyone is to keep a positive outlook and a good sense of humor.

sending thoughts y’all’s way. Having a rocky relationship w someone doesn’t preclude one from being concerned for that person. Personal relationships have lots of gray areas. Despite everyone’s insistence that things are always cut and dry, it’s far from that.

I’m not religious, but I am thinking of you, your pop, and hoping for the best for you both.

I hope good things happen. Maybe if we wish for it hard enough it’ll do something to the part of his brain that makes him act like an asshole to you? I’m wishing for that and for it to help his cancer
