AI and social media are both shit and are both addictive.
But I think one reason for the AI-hate on social media is that the people who spend hours a day talking to chatbots and generating images, those people are not also spending hours a day on social media.
You pick up your phone for no reason. What do you open? What’s your source of shitty low-quality conversation? If it’s a chatbot it’s probably not a forum, and as these addictions are deepen, the AI users stop voicing their opinions online because they’re busy talking to 1s and 0s


A definition of slavery ought to refer to the process of slavery, the social relation of exploitation and coercion that maintains the process. I don’t think it can be reduced to just the kidnapping
iirc it’s deliberataly reductive since the process can vary significantly based on the form of slavery. This is where I heard it if you want the context.

This expanded definition does include details about the social relation of slavery, so not too reductive like I had thought before. Like the host, I think the insertion of as property is dubious, but that’s a scholarly quibble for those guys to hash out.
