Also people have a hard time grasping the difference between economically left/right and socially the opposite. So it encourages throwing each other under the bus, like it’s necessarily a zero-sum* game, which is rubbish.
Ah yeah I had a really good article about pitting the individual against the collective but I can’t find it sadly…
