    “NHL caves to bigots, let’s them win”

    While I didn’t support the performance move anyway, this sends a message that homophobia is a big enough influence in their sport to dictate policy.

      The fact that they’re still doing everything else just draws attention to it being weak ass rainbow capitalism.

        Here’s the thing about rainbow capitalism, it shows that we are a large enough group that it’s worth it to advertise to us.

    Well that’s pretty shitty

    Especially given the reasons in the article

    • It sucks but given the reasons they listed it makes sense. There’s no mechanism to have someone expelled from the league for being a bigot, and it became a form of protest against LGBT rights and acceptance to refuse to wear the jersey. It sadly winds up undermining the entire purpose of those events.

    Three teams — the Minnesota Wild, the New York Rangers and Chicago’s NHL team — cancelled their Pride Night warmups, but kept other events.

    Well, time to get rid of my Rangers jersey…
