I just realized you said km not miles. 300km is marginal for useful EV range. You should charge to 80% for battery life. You should never get below 20% - this is an emergency buffer to use if there is a real emergency which few people have but you should be prepared for anyway. Now cut what is left in half because it gets to -25 in winter and you need heat. Your 300km is now under 100km which is easy to do in a busy day when you have any after work hobby.
Sure in the best case 300km is more than enough, but everything above is real world typical worst case that everyone I know hits. Maybe you live in a mild climate where you can ignore the cold range hit but I don’t.

Large batteries can be charged up to 90% for daily commuting. Once a month it is good to charge up to 100% anyway, and that can be for your road trip.
It would be hard to find a modern EV that struggles getting you more than 150~200km of effective range if you plan for it and respect buffers.
I find it hilarious that these range anxiety people are so scared to wait for a 15~30min top up while they easily waste that time scrolling on their phone a multiple of that every day.
Not having the insane energy density of fossil fuels, forcing you to pause life for just a coffee break, sounds exactly like the kind of thing humans need right now.

I have a modern EV. I’m describing my reality. It has plenty of range for everything until it gets cold. that range is more than 300km, and it cannot do my regular trips when it is cold. I found this out the hard way last winter, and when I checked there was exactly one charger in range (I was visiting friends in a poor rural area well off the beaten path) - a level two charger that only gave a few km per hour meaning I needed a long lunch someplace where I didn’t want to be just to get enough range to get home. At least nothing went wrong because I was well under that 20% buffer when it was deadly cold outside.
At -25 the difference between C and F a rounding error. Which is why I didn’t specify units.
Pretending EVs have no flaws is not helpful. I won’t too back, but in not blind to the flaws. Maybe your reality is different but you are not everyone.
They exist, but they are not yet generally available in the real world. We can ignore them today, but who knows what next year will bring. When I know I will change my position.

China is already selling cars with sodium batteries for this issue.
Good to -40C. Lithium ranges are typically half in cold weather.

They are coming fast because they are cheaper to produce and CATL is already providing them at scale. Winter range is a legit problem with lithium.
