Very weird move for USA to sell € to buy Y, instead of using their own $. Supposedly a very low Japan interest rate and a high US inflation playing a role here.

There’s at least a 50% chance that this is not done due to any rational decision making process, but just because a senile old man saw something on the tv as he was dozing off.
