I feel like I didn’t get the memo or something. But I live in a suburb between a city and rural areas, mix of a lot of different life styles. It’s a lot like the neighborhood I grew up in, but for some reason here the gen x white people all hang out in there driveways. They’ll set a fire pit out sometimes and they all have back yards. Anyone else experience this? Am I the weird one? It makes walking the dog feel really weird sometimes.
if your neighborhood has a ton of walkers/people their age I 100% get it because I grew up in a neighborhood where every house had a big backyard but a ton of people would just chill on their porches/in their driveways exactly like how you’re describing (i’m imagining a suv/van parked in the driveway, a small front-yard and a few outdoor chairs around a brick firepit & a huge fenced in backyard you can barely see into haha), mainly because that meant they got to say hello to their neighbors who’d walk around after dinner or walk their dogs.

No, I know I’m being a bit of a curmudgeon, but nobody sits on their lawn. Except the one fundy family who look like Mormon missionaries. They say hello, then just stare intently, they are also never talking among themselves.
