    This was my feeble attempt at humor.

    I kind of grew up trying to convince my dad to quit smoking, yet he kept repeating the same three stories about doctors smoking, grandpa’s longevity (the only thing I remember from him was coughing fits that lasted five minutes and had him on his knees) and that he could quit anytime.

    But even I think tobacco is not as bad as alcohol, mostly for how the latter is ingrained in our culture. How tv characters will drown their sorrows, how a character with character tends to raise his elbow way too many times and how getting wasted is the way to party for young people. I’ve also seen what happens to those that lived a drinker’s life and it is harrowing, not so unlike what meth can do to you.
