It’s free to watch in the UK right now. I absolutely LOVED it. I can’t tell you how much. In fact it has surprised me as I’ve been suffering from severe anhedonia - the inability to experience pleasure or enjoyment from anything - quite severely for a very long time. If you are looking for something to watch I really recommend it.
EDIT: I want to watch it over and over but I’m worried I’ll ruin it for myself. I’ve done that with films and music before. I don’t want to lose this feeling.

I don’t know if this is a problem across all of Andy Weir’s stories, but the protagonist in The Martian and PHM were both generic nerdy single white dudes who I didn’t really relate to that much. The Sci-Fi concepts are very good, but I wish they actually focused on that more rather than repeating the “fist my bump” joke 50 trillion times. In the words of Vaas from that Far Cry 3 trailer, “one time is funny, two times is fucking annoying, no?” The story also feels very “and everyone lived happily ever after” at several points, but that’s probably more to do with my personal taste in stories.
