I once had a concept for a character, a childcare robot whose primary directive is “ensure the wellbeing of children.” This gets them into trouble because their programmers mistakenly prioritized this directive over “obey the law,” which leads to them doing things like stealing food and medication from stores and breaking into buildings to give orphans a relatively safe and comfortable place to sleep. The point, of course, is to show that capitalist society is indifferent at best and hostile at worst to its own kids.
What kind of personality would you give the robot? I see three distinct types of bot for that. You could have a quirk chungus, you could have a House MD-like, or you could have an Iron Giant type.
Radically in favor of children being safe is good, actually

Best I can describe their personality is, fitting enough, “Ms. Rachel.”
10/10 short story concept in the vein of Asimov
That’s a very good concept comrade!
