The people who say they’re the most concerned for children are still in favor of Epstein boy and think Ms Rachel is some kind of extremist for wanting children to live

They’re hypocrites and it’s impossible to have a serious conversation with them because they’ll pretend to have principles they don’t (much like libs unsurprisingly)

They care about white children, and only if they can use them to brutakize brown people.

More like they are obsessed with pedophilia as a concept due to some underlying repressed pedophilia. It’s psycho-sexual and has nothing to do with the actual victims or wanting to reduce pedophilia. It’s more of a tantalizing obsession like true crime people’s obsession with serial killers. They will tell you it’s because they “want to protect themselves” by learning about serial killers, but that’s obvious bullshit because the best way to do that wouldn’t be through infotainment and spectacle. They are attracted to the violence and want to stare at it, that’s basically it.

it’s times like this, that it dawns on me the kind of comedy i found in political satire isn’t actually funny. there’s no writer anywhere that can make a more obvious farce out of conservative mass media than this, yet here we are. i’m not laughing. being a character in these stories isn’t funny at all now that there are humanoids this soulless and detached from any sense of decency out there pulling the strings of society.

Have you ever watched fox news with any of your ancient relatives? It’s hilarious, but unintentionally of course. 90% of it is like “person I’ve never heard of neglected to properly salute the flag.”

I was at a place a few months ago where it was just trump reading a prewritten speech about the horrors of autostart. That shit went on for an hour, I swear.

  • This kind of brainworms has a long lineage if you think about it, from saying that pikachu was satanic, to wanting to violently kill Barney. I wonder if they thought Fred Rogers was a communist or something?

        The “Israel Palestine mess”?

I’m trying really really hard to be more constructive and less agro with my comments and replies but I must say from the bottom of my heart: go fuck yourself. And that is me being restrained.

“I feel bad for both the children of plantation owners AND slave children in this whole chattel mess”

“I feel bad for both the death camp internees AND the children of the SS overseers in this whole Auschwitz mess”

Straight in the pit with you.

Dude, take a breath. This is a social media site and I occasionally have better things to do than take extra time to ensure I word things in the exact right way, especially when I’m trying to relay info about the actions and statements of someone else.

If you have some way you’d prefer that sentence chunk to be worded, you’re welcome to suggest it and I’ll edit my comment and consider myself well and truly educated on correct way to refer to things. That’d be far more effective than taking the time to get enraged at whatever strawman of me you’ve built up.

And the comparison to slavery doesn’t hold. I truly don’t have the time and effort available to write some big thesis on how fucked that comparison is, but in short: slaves didn’t have an active military force comparable to the slave owners. Before the north stepped up they weren’t launching missile counter strikes.

“Why didn’t the slaves just fight back with their own muskets? Were they stupid?”

Ultimately, Mrs. Rachel’s statements were entirely about the unnecessary harm and death of children in a war/genocide they had no hand in. She wasn’t talking fucking child soldiers, teenagers, hitler youth types. She’s talking babies, toddlers, young children most likely under the age of 8. At those ages hate has to be taught, and none of those kids are out committing atrocities themselves.

There weren’t six year olds out whipping slaves or SAing slave women. There aren’t six year olds piloting drones or coordinating rocket and artillery strikes for Israel.

Don’t get me wrong, free Palestine. Fuck pissrael. Fuck Zionists. If we absolutely must weigh child lives against each other than Palestinian children matter more no question. But I don’t want to live in a world where people are remorselessly ok with dead toddlers just because of where they were born.

I’m of the personal opinion that’s well and truly fucked up mentality. You’re more than welcome to disagree, or to go spread some hatred at Mrs. Rachel for not restricting her empathy to only see the right toddlers, but I truly feel that reflects more on you than anybody else.

My objection is not to feeling for the innocent children, but rather your referral to the “Israel Palestine ‘mess’” which is a disgusting way to phrase it.

Or you could just not say “both sides” in a fucking genocide. It’s actually really easy.

The parents on one side of this conflict can simply take their kids and fuck off back to Europe. The same cannot be said for the Palestinian children trapped in a death camp.

My guy, I already gave you and everyone else the easiest fucking solution to this. Asked you to just give me how you preferred it to have been phrased. So far, neither you nor anyone else has done what should be incredibly easy. I’ve adjusted the phrasing anyway. You’re welcome.

Also, please go do some remedial English. Someone simply using the phrase “both sides” is absolutely not the same as actually drawing equivalence.

It was a three sentence comment typed in haste as an attempt to provide some additional context.

Beyond that I have now done my best to make my opinions about the genocide blatant at this point. I’m coming from an instance that should be known at this point for its strict no Zionist policies.

The fact that this was responded to by multiple people aggressively making large negative claims about my personal beliefs is just absurd. Especially the continuance of that after I offered an easy solution and made my beliefs explicit. The amount of imagining between the lines that has happened from such a throwaway comment puts fanfic communities to shame.

The suffering and dead children on either side are innocent was her point. The children, nothing else.

Not trying to be rude, but your reaction here is part of the problem. She made some short thing on Instagram crying about the the dying children on both sides and then got absolutely fucking dogpiled by both the left and the right. How dare she support Israel! How dare she support Palestine!

She didn’t make any statement to any degree of support of either side of the war. She was explicitly talking about the young children caught in a war they have no hand in.

I don’t disagree with you but I’m not going to celebrate dead kids, or get grumpy about someone being worried about hurt kids because they didn’t fence off their empathy from also seeing the children of the bad guys.

No one is cheering for dead children. The point is that it is nonsensical to compare them; the killing of Palestinian children is an intentional strategy as part of an ongoing genocide, orders of magnitude greater in scale than the killing of Israeli children, which occurs incidentally during the resistance to that genocide.

You are allowed to mourn for all of them, but you must notice that nearly all of who you’re mourning are Palestinian. Did you also need black lives matter vs all lives matter explained to you?

There are people cheering in the very comment replies here. Something along the lines of “Why shouldn’t someone cheer for dead kids of slave owners”.

Fuck you that is not what I said. I said you should not equivocate between them for fuck sake. YOU ARE THE ONE “reading between lines” to retroactively justify your disgusting fucking comment.

@db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com you got some house cleaning to do.

there may come a time, years from now, when this and your later multi paragraphed reply will become clear to you as nothing other than equivocating to serve your ego. we aren’t a group who’ll get our names etched into history, no cowboy speech is going to change the course of any wars or win any peace prizes and still you feel the urge to write so much to establish with clinical precision why you’re such a great sensitive guy and right after all. in the end the gaza genocide is providing you an opportunity to flaunt your intellect and “rational compassionate values” or whatever and we end up with these contrarian text-walls that try to look as meek as possible while also being calculated to put a pedestal under you. it’s not about the facts of the external news, it’s about your performance here and now.

you have a choice to make, abandon that ego, and with it the urge to seek out and exacerbate these moral conflicts on the internet which invariably leads to frustration when people push back because they aren’t stupid (due to how naturally unconvincing the mixture of condescending and concerned is) or embrace it and go on to wonder if the far right has any openings left.

maybe you’ve made that choice and you come here as just another fucking liar.

    Radically cuddly, I guess.

    bugs-stalin

Which is my brand of left radicalism too… I do love a good Soviet Bear bit that involves a bear hug. But, uh, yeah. There’s no such thing as “too radical” on the viewpoint of “let’s not kill children or let others kill children”.

I’m sorry but this quote in conjunction with your username is extremely funny

      • Huh. Yeah, I see it now… gosh. I wasn’t trying to make an edgy red terror reference at all… just my name and the year of my favourite point in history… oh, I think I screwed up, if that’s what people are reading my screen name as…
