many gen z right now cannot leave our current abusive households due to the shit economy and i cant help but wonder what the long term consequences of ts will be. im happy because my mom works most days so im technically free most of the time but i feel like im getting to the very limit of what a person can realistically be able to handle. unemployment is impossible to find and houses are basically unaffordable.
being an adult dealing with this bullshit is just humiliating. its one thing to be 12 and have a 35 year old woman threaten to beat you and shave you bald but at 19 and 42 its already dragging it… sorry for the crude details but im planning to start documenting this and maybe sueing in the future…
I think the long terms effects of abuse will further create isolation between people and make it harder for the victims to develop healthy relationships when/if they escape
I’m 24 now and it’s done incredible (sarcasm) things to my psyche :3
I was out a few yrs ago and it was the best time of my life but then
and I lost my treat servant job which was barely paying the bills anyway and the cost of everything went up even more and I had to go back. It’s funny, the moment I got back into my old room I was thinking “this is gonna make me so much worse again” and guess what happened lolWhen I’m here and they’re here usually all I wanna do is hide in my room and lock the door. My heart races when they’re around my room cuz I never know when they’re gonna bang on it to get me to come out to yell at me or tell me to get the fuck out of their house or smth
They think I’m a lazy layabout with no life but that’s because I have to pretend to be someone else when I’m around them and they don’t care to hear about me or react badly if I try to be anyone else (such as myself) that isn’t exactly like them
cw: gender dysphoria
Hearing my dad when I laugh or cough or do a lot of stuff with my voice adds another whole layer to the torment
When family tell me “I look just like [my] dad when he was my age” I wanna crawl out of my skin and scream
I spend a lot of time at my boyfriend’s place which helps immensely but he also lives with his parents. I need to find a job so fucking bad so we can move out but no one is replying
I used to try to please them but I don’t care anymore. They’ll die miserable and probably slowly cuz they’re beef tallow chuds who live off of burger
I should say when I say “them” I’m referring to my dad and my step-mom who I live with. My mom lives far away but our relationship is better now even though tbh she’s also a abused person who finds it difficult to show that she loves me but at least she doesn’t hate me
Wishing u a pleasant escape soon

Btw I have no idea how this works but if anyone has any job recs for an entirely self-taught computer toucher with 2 months of experience at some small business parasite MSP that doesn’t exist anymore and no certifications I would appreciate cuz I’m actually losing it working treat servant jobs :3 Amazon driver was the closest I came to a mental break in a while xwx
I’m cracked at C and systems administration but I would do anything at this point
I have uhhhhh 1 recommendation from a real senior programmer ^w^
I don’t know, but you can research other countries where this has been the situation way longer such as Italy where young people build their family in their parents house because they can’t afford to move out.
this is sometimes viewed as a warm aspect of mediterranean culture, but in north america it can’t even be pitched as such
I genuinely think there is a market for a chain of retirement homes to advertise itself as the cheapest, most unpleasant, place that it is legal to warehouse your rotten bigot relatives. It should be called something like Bitter Ends or Spiteful Sunsets. To be clear I don’t think such a place should exist; Just that it seems like a viable service to sell under capitalism.
The problem is the boomers still own all the money. Since they’re paying, they just wouldn’t pay to go to a nasty place.
We’ll all be socially inept without lives of our own
