Just for everyone to know:
42 is the maximum age for voluntary enlistment with the US Army where it was formerly 35. The maximum age for the Selective Service remains 25. This means the Army now matches the maximum voluntary enlistment age that the other branches of the US military have already had. The US Army temporarily did this in 2006 during the Iraq War, but lowered to back to their former normal of 35 in 2016.
Historically, the US has involuntarily conscripted for the Civil War up to age 45, WWI up to age 30 initially but was later expanded to 45, and WWII registered up to age 64 but they mostly picked only up to about age 40.
In other words: THIS ONLY APPLIES TO VOLUNTARY ENLISTMENT WITH THE US ARMY. IT DOES NOT APPLY TO SELECTIVE SERVICE.
And they will never do this for the draft!
Seems like Canada will be even more welcoming then before if they do.
15 is the new 18
-DJT, probably
15? Really? Katie Johnson was 13 when trump raped her. And there’s no reason to believe that she was the youngest of his victims.
So they’re going to arm me and surround me with fascists?
The phrase “target rich environment” comes to mind.
It’ll be like shooting fish in a barrel at least
Tell that to my fucking joints… And yeah, you guys are fucked.
About time these avo toast crunching layabouts got off their dungaree’d arses and contributed to the military industrial complex.
Americans, probably most western cultures, barely live like humans anymore.
There little reason to live this lifestyle anymore, it’s not normal. It’s like our existence in these 1st world nations is specifically to build this monster culture up to end natural life instead of be human.
It’s weird a person can have zero American success, be poor, and still be a better more mature human being than them.
We’re so far removed from what it means to be human. Everything is available at the push of a button. It’s pretty crazy what level of alienation we’ve reached.
What’s wrong with Canada and Chilie?
Racism against indigenous populations for one. Might not be as bad as the US, and certainly there better on the scale of imperialism, but it’s still problematic
And no eastern countries have this issue?
They do, I’d say most countries do to varying extents
So now you understand my confusion when the top comment points to this being a western issue, as if one half of the world somehow has no problems.
I was just responding to the ask of what’s wrong with Canada and Chile
Silly.
Were on a post explicitly referencing the US army if you missed the context
Look one comment up and read carefully and then my comment should make sense if you have both halves of your brain. Which was also a hint.
Oh, I see. You think it’s ambiguous when people call the only country with America in its name, that people frequently call America, America.
Do you likewise think it was a good idea to rename the gulf? It is, after all, much more the gulf of America than the Gulf of Mexico, right?
Although, considering it’s mostly bordered by the United States of America, and the United Mexican States I suppose it would also make sense to call it the Gulf of the United States.Or you could just recognize that it’s normal to shorten a name to the most distinctive word if the name is long.
Oh I see. You can’t read.
Your comment had six words, and none of the significant ones seemed particularly related to the comment you referenced. You’ll have to forgive people if they can’t sus out you meaning from six words.
Is it that you think Canada and Chile do live a more authentic human experience? Ooh, as a twist do you think they do manage to be poor, unsuccessful, and also morally worse than Americans?
That’d be an interesting twist compared to the asinine pedantry that hinges on being weird about one or two words im looking forward to.So please, maybe make it a bakers dozen, and have some of the words actually reference the subject or object of your ire.
Or I’ll just take you literally. “Not fond of the province layout”, “Hudson Bay is hard to get to”, “bad aspect ratio”, and “entirely consisting of mountains makes a cohesive transportation network of any type really hard”. That’s what’s really wrong with Canada and Chile.
So I got to “and none of,” before I stopped. Just want you to know I didn’t get the rest of your message, but it’s definitely received. Have a great rest of your life.
If they feel like drafting me, well… I am a fucking savant at malicious compliance, and deniable fragging sounds like a fun pastime.
I’m 43 and really wondering if this is going to catch up to me
>documented lifelong beliefs in anarchism and buddhism
>can’t be drafted
>can be arrested for thought-crimeIf you’re looking for free hormone therapy, free testosterone, joining up now might not be such bad timing.
Considering they are raiding paycheck funds to pay for other things doesn’t inspire confidence that this stuff will ever happen, or that it will actually be free, or that the T is actually testosterone and not some gobbly gook made by a crony trying to scam contract money…
