😑 But I don’t know crap about Ableton, I’m an FL Studio girl.
The only T girl I know into sound production does Fruity Loops, and I’m profoundly disappointed.
To their credit, they ARE insanely good at it.
(EDIT) - Also a furry, but you can flip a coin on that one.
we need jungle, I’m afraid
bruh use a tracker if you wanna make some good jungle ableton fkn sucks for that. Samplr manipulation wayy too clean, youre not gonna good that swingy rough feel youre looking for.
Something like that yeah! cant vouch for that specifically, never tried it, but looks like the right stuff!
otherwise id reccomend milkytracker or renoise ✌️
Milkytracker is pretty cool. I had a quick go with Furnace, which has some chiptune options also.
“how do I patch KDE2 under freebsd” aura
All they had to do was show up to a VRChat rave. Tons of bedroom DJs willing to help.
As a trans woman, wtf is this dude taking about?
Ableton is a digital audio workstation popular for use in producing electronic music. CDJ is a series of digital turntables produced by Pioneer for use in DJing, usually combined with a mixer, which if you’re staying with the popular Pioneer brand, is probably going to be one of the DJM series mixers.
All of the above is, of course, absolutely proprietary and quite overpriced.
Music production software
I think Ableton is the only popular music production suite that’s Linux compatible.
A friend recently released an album that audacity, and basically nothing more (and he runs Linux). Apparently it’s massively expanded and upgraded over the years
Ableton for linux!?!? really?
Am I missing something. I can sort of get it to half-work through WINE, but it’s nothing in comparison to native Mac or even Windows. Is there a native build or do I just have to know what I’m doing with the audio stack?
Reaper is Linux compatible.
Has the same free trip as winrar too.
Ardour!
Bitwig
Renoise
Jungle is massive
he’s not entirely wrong…
I’m a trans girl and i have no idea what those are 👀
Ableton seems to be some sort of music company that sells a bunch of equipment for DJing/making music. CDJ according to wiki is like a tool for DJing. Jungle is a genre of music, kind of like breakcore or DnB (drums and bass), but also like synthwave.
So it looks like this person is trying to get into music production or DJing with a focus on Jungle music, and is under the assumption trans people tend to be in the know about it.
Ableton’s main product is software for music, actually. A so-called DAW (digital audio workstation).
thank u chief this eggsplains a lot :3
Ableton Live is music production software that you can hook up cd players to DJ with.
See that’s why I’m not trans : I use Bitwig.
why ableton, and not renoise
YES
Is it FOSS?
Zrythm is FOSS if you want something with a quasi-similar workflow to Ableton.
I feel like I’m going crazy looking at the website… The UI looks super familiar, but I can’t recall having ever used it. Is it Ardour? Bitwig? Bandlab???
Doesn’t seem to be
well then that’s why
ableton is not foss either
My bad, I was thinking of Ardour.
Nobody really needs help with those things, I’m not buying it
