Mandatory piss tests but it’s not for drugs it’s to make sure you’re hydrated enough to produce enough labor value to be worth it

My doctors say I shouldn’t exert myself more than I can handle (i.e. a few minutes at a time, maybe a couple times per day) but Disability Services thinks I just need to move to Toronto and get a full time job. (With what money? Nobody will hire me because I can’t do the part of a job where you do work.)

Infuriating. Why must everyone go through this humiliating ritual of performing for their permission to live?

I really hope for a future where you not only don’t have to do labour but also dont feel pressured to apologize for it.

There’s this old treatment that was used for Myalgic Encephalitis called GET. Essentially every doctor you could think of to ask will tell you straight up GET cannot improve ME/CFS and consistently makes it worse for almost all patients. Only a handful of unlicensed quack practitioners still even offer this treatment anywhere on the planet.

However, people whose job it is to practice medicine without a license (insurance ghouls, disability denial people, etc.) love suggesting that you don’t have a disability and to just try GET. Again you won’t be able to find anyone who actually does this, and even if you do no insurance will cover it because it’s like some chiropractor who has received a lifetime ban from quackery and moved to Croatia to run a sketch GET clinic.
