Honestly? Anything I find interesting. Introvert problems.
Watching horror movies as background for wholesome activities like knitting. Everyone is like, “Ew, why?”
Idk, I just enjoy it. No super gore though (well, not if it’s the only point of the movie).
Playing airsoft milsim games. I like to pretend being a soldier once in a while I guess, and Idk why I like it, but I would never want to be one for real or fight in a war. It doesn’t really fit my personality because I’m otherwise pretty calm and anti conflict. Dunno what it is, it’s legitimately hard to explain and people like to judge you for it because it looks like you’re insane
Glaciers and the key terms that describe the parts of glaciers and thinking about how glaciers (specifically continental glaciers) formed the landscapes of North America.
A fellow glaciology fan.
I too like glaciers and glacial structures, but I’m more into glacial lakes and GLOFs in particular.
Studying law. I just suddenly developed this interest in my mid to late 30s and now I’m learning everything I can about it.
Deep Rock Galactic. “Well, you just shoot lots of bugs. And there’s different objectives and you can mod your guns in different ways”. Doesn’t really sell it like the incredibly enjoyable experience that it is
ROCK AND STONE!!!
If “robots smashing each other up” doesn’t inherently thrill you, I cannot explain why I love Battlebots. Some people just get it and some do not.
Driving to whatever realistically reachable destination I can. By myself. Well, with the dog, but he lost his license.
I draw the line at 16 hours, generally, which gets me to some pretty awesome destinations.
My friends think I’m crazy, but airport hassle, renting cars or Uber/Lyft is not my preferred mode of travel. I don’t mind flying. I’d just rather enjoy the act of travelling, the ability to stop off wherever I want, etc.
I like modern westerns, stuff like True Grit.
I don’t know why; nothing could be further out of character for me. They just scratch a weird itch, I guess.
Anything really but if that’s not a good answer then testing stuff like when i used to mod a game and l change a little thing and test how much of a impact the change had so I’m basically doing the same thing over and over again and I know most people will find that boring.
Another thing that’s similar to above is that I daydream about ideas more then like playing a game or watching a movie or show or looking at tech, most of it starts off as i want to fix this one thing in this media or thing or to make somethings that’s missing or been gone for a while.
Keeping my computers, phone and the firmware of any devices up to date. Doesn’t matter what it is, I like the latest and greatest.
Consider my SIP VoIP gateway, I maybe make one call a month through it and get a couple of scam calls a week, it’s stable as hell. Yet the second I get a notification saying there is a new firmware version I’m downloading it!
I find it hard to explain why I like reading and listening to true crime. Trying to explain that I am fascinated with the graphic details of horrific crimes while also being heartbroken and sympathizing for the victims is tough to do.
Simple bland food. I always cook the blandest stuff like boiled rice with canned tuna and I only use salt for spices and I honestly prefer food that way.
Circle track asphalt racing. People either get it or, they don’t. And I can’t even begin to explain to someone who doesn’t how exciting and fun it is for me. All they hear is “cars doing around in circles.”
I guess one of the parts they’re missing is spending all week in that garage with your family trying to fix everything from last weekend, and get it running better than before, before this weekend comes. Then seeing all your hard work pay off, at high speeds.
