If this plastic fiddle-toy dingus is a “concern,” these people are going to shit absolute brick if they see what I’ve got in my desk drawer.

Seriously, the hand-wringing over something like this is just sheer whacking off by people whose lives are so cushy they don’t actually have anything legitimate to complain about.

Yeah at first I thought about how I had a toy army knife growing up, then realized that’s a very American toy to have lmao. I do think though that making this a big deal is just adding to its popularity. Kids only think it’s cooler since their parents are freaking out.

      The article says

The plastic knife toy, which is shaped like a carrot, is made of fluorescent materials and available in different colours.

Is there more to it than that?

Well, that makes them like the edge of a freezie pop. Those are dangerous.

I don’t think plastic would cut so well as it does in the article’s video, but maybe it’s not the only schematic.

Looks like the toy is plastic, but you can print and make ones out of paper (or cardstock?)

Seems about as violent as foam noodle swords?

Enough paper cuts and a human can bleed out. They have a right to be concerned. Should go back to hitting each other with sticks and rocks they find outside like I used to do as a kid.

Lmao I’ve only seen this toy in Korean memes where people print them super sized and instead of the blade it has a phone holder. I had no idea it was supposed to be a knife blade.

That is to say, the Korean youth already has the ridicule of this story covered.

If you have to stop and think “Is this fair use?”, it probably isn’t. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.

Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.

Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to “Mom! He’s bugging me!” and “I’m not touching you!” Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

  • Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.

  • Rule 7: We didn’t USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
