Italians, Irish, Slavs, all got brought in because the racists needed a boost to their numbers to keep black people down.
Agreed. And let me clarify- I do not mean to say (and I say this as a Jew myself) that Jews do not have all of the inherent privileges that come with whiteness. We absolutely do. I’m just talking about right-wing bigots. There are certain people who only consider me white when they need me to be on their side about something.
