Amazon will allow auto dealers to sell cars on its site, starting with Hyundai::The company has slowly entered the car buying business over the years by launching a digital showroom for shoppers to research and compare vehicles.
- I feel like the kind of person who would buy a car through Amazon is also the kind of person who doesn’t leave their house in the first place. - Or someone who doesn’t support the lengthy and exhausting process of buying a car from a dealership and having to negotiate a price. - Yeah, I’m there for a car and not games.
- Do you think the cars on amazon will be cheaper than sticker price and save you the negotiation? - No, they don’t have to be cheaper. In fact, I’d be willing to spend a bit more than I had to just to not deal with negotiation bullshit - If you think Amazon adding itself as a middleman and taking a cut helps you then you’re pretty dim. - Edit: get mad if you want, doesn’t change the fact that it adds complexity and cost and the dealer will still do what dealers do with lying and upselling regardless.

- It would allow for more price transparency, wouldn’t it ?

- I like how when I turned down the extended warranty the last time I bought a car, the saleswoman looked at me like I just shot her dog. - Or how about all the threads I see online where they will all but refuse to sell you a vehicle if you try and pay in cash / not use their financing provider.

- Literally the ONLY thing I like about the dealerships is being able to look at clean cars indoors… There is NOTHING else of value in the interactions with the sales person.

- Alexa buy me a new car!
- I expect 2-day delivery, and by drone please!
