Cleaning the floors today. I feel like I’m moving slowly though, from the humidity. There’s no joy in doing this today that’s for sure. Afternoon will be more chill.

No man in banh mi shop line, standing super close behind me will not get you served faster.
I may be in that tiny little circle of severe heatwave 😬
So I saw one of the friends in the group that excluded me from their catch up last week. He was saying how we should plan another pot luck dinner with the group (that’s what we did the last time I saw them all) and have it at person X’s place. So maybe they felt bad I wasn’t with them last week? Who knows. I just acted dumb, said sure etc, no confrontation about why I wasn’t invited last week. Let’s see if it happens. I’ll forgive but I won’t forget!
Had a massive day, just sat down to go through the happenings of the DT. Two days in a row not WFH is a shock to the system, I’ve become such a home working slob. Quick wind down then off to bed as I gotta do it all again tomorrow. 😴
I am a sometimes late person (a trait I don’t really like but actively trying to improve) but being THAT late is insulting. You have to value other people’s time.
Ughh this feeling of aloneness while being overwhelmed with work, I’ve felt it so many times. The only advice I can offer is to look after yourself as much as you can. A home cooked meal, going for a walk or doing other exercise, proper wind down before going to sleep. This past weekend wasn’t great for me mentally and doing these three things helped.
Driving home tonight with the sun setting, sunroof and windows open, cruising on the highway, perfect temperature, good tunes playing, for a moment I felt at peace.
Gosh it’s still really warm out. Leisurely Saturday night bike ride to get dinner got sweaty quick. Expected it to be cooler by now.
Just saw an insta story of a group of friends together that I’ve hung out with a few times during this year (not super close with them but neither are they with each other). We have a group chat used in the past to plan catch ups… not this time though. Maybe it’s just a coincidence they’re all together but can’t help but feel purposely excluded.
Wasn’t going to drink tonight but now I want one.
The switch to video feature on Spotify is pretty cool. The way it switches to exactly where the audio track is playing in the video on command. Probably a gimmick I’ll get over but for now, I’m enjoying watching music videos I haven’t seen for ages (or never seen).
$350 of free drinks?! That’s dangerous (and fun).
A hot pie or crumble of some sort with a side of ice cream, can’t be beat.
Clients asking me if I can do their work for cheaper. No! I give you a fair price right up, this isn’t a negotiation. Yet I feel the need to say, yes of course I can do it cheaper. Then I come across as a pushover and the next time I do work for them, they’ll ask for cheaper again.
Traffic was awful heading to my social sports training tonight, but had fun once I finally got there. Hadn’t been for a few weeks. There’s just some days I need to be around a group of people. Made the drive worth it.
What’s the best way to get white socks / clothes looking like new again? In hindsight, not the greatest idea to wear new white crew socks on a dusty hike. I soaked in Napisan for hours before washing but they still look dirty.
Back from one week holiday. Really enjoyed seeing another corner of our beautiful country, even if it is super expensive to travel locally. Highlight was visiting Whitehaven Beach, I’ve never seen ocean water so blue.
On the to-do list today is holiday laundry, grocery shopping as my fridge is empty, gym session and catching up on many work emails.
They’re just very comfortable rubber slippers. Passable to wear for a quick run to the shops when you can’t be bothered with shoes.
My grass was yellow and looking dead on Saturday, now it’s green and looks like it’s going to need a mow soon. Also left my indoor plants outside for a couple of days after not watering for a little too long and they look revitalised. Amazing what rain and humidity does for plants.
