- There are literally lawn chairs in Hyde Park in London and if you sit in a dude rocks up and informs you that it costs like $2 per half hour to sit in it. - Can’t wait for roaming fees on my oxygen consumption plan.
- Is that dude a street scammer? - Nah, they even have a web site apparently: https://www.royalparks.org.uk/visit/parks/hyde-park/park-deck-chairs -
acts like a street scammer
-
puts up a web page about it
 - That’s what “cheeky” means, right?
-

- Literally lawn chairs
- There’s literally food in restaurants in London and if you eat it a dude rocks up and informs you it’s like £15 to eat it. - I’m not sure what you expect here. A charitable or government service to provide you with deck chairs for free? - Right? Like someone is going to put a chair or bench in a public space like a park. Ha! Call it a “park bench” or something… and let people sit on it for free?? Ludicrous! It’ll never happen! /s - That’ll be £1.00 for reading this response. Please advise where to send the invoice. - I upvoted after reading the first half and then read the second and wanted to upvote again 😂 - also- I hereby entitle agent_flounder to reading this response gratis as a payment for reading their comment - I wasn’t going to vote at all, so I went ahead and put another one on to cover your second.

- I’m my local park there are hammocks that the local government puts up each year. - Benches, hammocks, flowers, swings and a free open air gym is provided as part of the tax we pay to the city - I know that you are just a rightoid moron but I just want to make clear that having nice parks that people want to spend time in is not a new and weird concept. - No hammocks here but even in the small parks they put in one device to do a variety of excersises and in the larger ones there is like a circuit of various things. They are all static type things to help with calisthenics but are pretty neat.
- I’m my local park - Thank you for your service. - 🫡

- Would you say you are, or are not familiar with the concept of public property? - well he is from london post brexit. - Yikes what a shithole

- Free outdoor seating is extremely common though, it’s not that far fetched it could apply to deck chairs too
- This is satire, right? Poe’s law is strong with this one. - The first half’s snark makes it seem serious, but the second half seems like sarcasm.

- 15? That’s it! Where is this good deal? - The only reasonable food while out and about was supermarket meal deals when I went to visit a few years back.
- This must be the guy who charges for the chairs lol
- Are you fucking for real
- deleted by creator

- Oh. That sounds like fun. Going round collapsing all the unoccupied chairs, that is.
- It used to be like that when I was a wee child in the Paris parks. They stopped it in the early '70s I think. I seem to remember that the fee was 50 centimes back then for 1/2 hour. I’ve no idea what the current equivalent would be. - So I looked up a random inflation calculator and it works out to 1€ today, taking into account the 684% of inflation.
- Can you bring your own chair?
- What the fuck

 - At least it comes at a discount right now - how are you getting an ad on lemmy ? - Poor guy is doing lemmy all wrong.
- They’re using an app which has an ad-supported version. I prefer Jeroba, which is only donation supported, but I’m not gonna stop people from making decisions.
- They are using an app, which isn’t great. Most of the aps don’t do formatting correctly, which is a VERY low bar considering how much of Lemmy is text. - Sync does formatting correctly. I came to Lemmy only because I like Sync so much. I paid for the lifetime version of it with Reddit and will probably pay for the lifetime version of this eventually. To each their own wrt how Lemmy is viewed, I guess.

- So am I? - i honestly cant tell whats going on in the image - There’s an ad for something, with the bell. We both use the free version of Sync. - oh i hadnt realized that sync had ads… - it evidently must be a great app otherwise if people are willing to use it

- Don’t forget to tip. - It’s just going to ask you a question. - Force the poor cashier, who’s not being paid minimum wage and needs to pay back their loans, to nervously smile at the pissed off customer and beg for mercy.

- Yes and may we suggest a reasonable default of 85%

- “sure, it seems like a lot but you need the understand the great value you’re getting for that $70! Once you agree to a 48 month non-refundable subscription, we will ensure that our representatives do NOT follow you around with flashing lights and sirens and a big sign that says ‘did not pay $70’! At that price you can’t afford not to subscribe!” - follow you around with flashing lights and sirens and a big sign that says ‘did not pay $70’! - Why not just show ads? Paying the $70 reduces the amount seen. Of course we need lots of personal information to show the right ads. And everything you say or do will be recorded for AI training.
- 😬 tone it down there, Aldous, that’s getting a little too plausible. - “Your feedback is appreciated! Please create a user profile and provide a valid payment method if you would like someone to actually read it!”

- Yy! \o/

- No, but I do have a few vowels left which I can spare. I think these should be the ones you need: ae o eo oe u oe uiio eie oe aoe ae

- Heh. Costs me at least 1200 to exist here, so youre getting a deal
- Also a video about how that’s the worst thing you can do for your health with no actual advice to correct it.
- A month - If only

- netflix users be like
- Save with a weekly subscription
- My existence costs $1757 monthly. Maybe i should relocate to a state park to get the $70 rate
- That’s not funny
- Daily breakdown of rent is more than that… Not including food and other expenses
- so that’s why zoomers think touching grass is a form of consumerism.
- Higher quality version.
