This is why I only spread hatred towards people I actually hate, like the British.
The only thing I can’t stand is people who are intolerant of other people’s cultures… And the Dutch!
We FACKIN love it mate
Where did you find such hate? The British museum??
Bri*ish🤮
But the British aren’t people…
I prefer not offending anyone so I usually spread hatred towards people who don’t actually exist, like the chilean.

Can’t take a joke, can ya?
TIL there’s a term for this: Schrödinger’s joke
Conservatives don’t know how comedy works. I call it the Yo Mama hypothesis.
When you were a kid, and other kids lied about your mom, you got mad, right? And eventually they’d say - relax, it’s a joke, stop crying. And if you’re reading this then you probably grew to understand the difference between saying something and meaning it.
I don’t think every kid got there.
I think a lot of kids, maybe a whole quarter of humanity, only learned that jokes are insults you have to shut up and take. They’re cruelty you’re not allowed to get mad about. How would those kids act differently? They’d stop crying, mostly, when people told rude lies about their mothers. They’d snap back at other kids, telling rude lies about their mothers. From those events you’d figure, great! They get it. It’s not real. Except… they only look right from the outside. On the inside, they’re gathering a list of excuses for vicious behavior.
These people know what jokes look like. They’re clever enough to build a punchline. They kinda get how you tell jokes. But they have no idea why you tell jokes.
People defending Dave Chappelle insisted “he’s a comedian!” like that absolved all his opinions. I’ve walked those people through how jokes require setup that reflects sincere beliefs. (Like how “eat the rich” is a joke about classism and cannibalism, but it’s only joking about the cannibalism.) I’ve cited the many times Dave repeated certain claims far from any stage. But these folks never acknowledge that being a TERF is not part of the act. That’s not how it works, in their worldview.
Being a comedian means he gets to say things you’re Not Supposed To Say, even if they’re things you absofuckinglutely believe. That’s all they thought Jon Stewart was doing. That’s why they thought Stephen Colbert was on their side.
The same people routinely parroted “you can joke about anything,” which is equally revealing. They’d heard it because they insisted “you can’t joke about [blank]!” even for the most benign, supportive, and inoffensive gags. And also for dead-baby jokes and antitheism. Point is: these types don’t care about severity, because they don’t care about meaning. They believe in blasphemy. They think condemnation, criticism, or even just speaking less-than-reverently about a subject is profaning something sacred, and chances are good they’ll hit kids for doing it.
We told them every subject is fair game for fair jokes. They’d stop yelling, mostly. And from that event we’d figure, great, they get it. But on the inside, they still believe the issue is what a joke is about. They still think joking is an attack under agreed-upon rules of engagement. So of course funny black man shit on trans people. They don’t like trans people. It’s hardly a secret. What’s our beef, saying he’s not allowed to spout jokes full of prejudice and hatred? They’re jokes. That’s what they’re for.
I don’t think it’s joking about cannibalism so much as it’s a metaphor or figurative speech.
Although I don’t want some weird prion disease, if rich people were the only remaining food source, I’d eat them.
It’s why I never say “eat the rich”, instead say: “compost the rich”. That way everyone knows I am serious about both parts of the ‘joke’.
Composting doesn’t eliminate prion risks, though. IMHO if we ever have that kind of power, they should be forced to see the world they delayed.
Suffice it to say, it’s insincere about the cannibalism. The animosity toward billionaires is completely serious.
Not literal but not a joke, it is a serious phrase of figurative speech. It originates from a french revolutionary "When the people shall have nothing more to eat, they will eat the rich.” which is most likely a reference to the famous quote by the same author, ‘At length I remembered the last resort of a great princess who, when told that the peasants had no bread, replied: "Then let them eat brioches.’ — Jean-Jacques Rousseau
The rich said let them eat cake, I propose we eat the rich
That’s what your momma is for.
its just a prank bro
And me acting offended was just a prank too. And no me picking your face is just a joke too.
I don’t mind, rather, I enjoy dark humor, just not when it’s thinly veiled actual beliefs. It’s more supposed to be a way to show the absurdity of legitimate problems or be a easier way to broach tough topics.
Yeah, if it’s truly just an attempt to not admit your bigoted beliefs, then it’s a fair callout. But there are also cases where the insulting bigoted comment joke is supposed to make fun of the people who actually hold those beliefs, and those are fair game.
I think they fairly qualified their joke to indicate that they are explicitly excluding sarcasm from the scenario.
Though agreed that a good sarcastic or sardonic joke can be a great callout.
It’s interesting how people try to redefine the word joke. If there’s nothing funny about it, it’s not a joke. So maybe they mean that they were trolling just for fun, which is not the same thing.
The second point is that if they say something horrible and then you call them an asshole and then they complain that you’ve gotten too sensitive, which is a very common chain of events, it actually shows that they’ve gotten too sensitive. If you’re not supposed to care about what they said, why should they care about what you said? … But of course actually they don’t care about what you said, and they’re just grandstanding. But even if we accept their internal logic just for the sake of argument, it still makes them giant assholes.
If there’s nothing funny about it, it’s not a joke
This doesn’t excuse these people, but this is a bad way to define a joke. Funny is a subjective thing, a matter of taste, there is no objective “funny” to measure against to see if they qualify.
A lot of language is subjective, and jokes are notoriously subjective. They translate horribly across cultures and languages.
If you have a different definition in mind, I’m all ears.
Jokes are about intent. There is no way to define what does, and does not, qualify as a joke without enough error as to make is useless. It is all about context, subject, timing, etc.
If I say some fucked up shit as a joke, it’s only because I failed to see how it was fucked up. Or I’m being sarcastic/facetious. If the former, and it’s brought to my attention, I’ll apologize and not repeat it. If the latter… 🤷🏻♂️
However, I once repeated a joke told to me by my transfem sister that she learned in her trans support group and was called a transphobe on Reddit. Sometimes shit doesn’t matter, they just wanna be angry.
Lots of jokes can be understood in different ways. On the internet nobody can tell if you are sincere, while a trans person at a trans support group definitely is. If I repeat an alt right talking point to my buddy, he knows I’m being sarcastic and I’m making fun of them. But you can’t tell if I’m alt right or not. Kinda sad you actually have to explain this.
Yeah the sort of jokes from trans support groups often wind into the “this is probably not the sort of joke I’m comfortable hearing a random cis person tell”. Lots of jokes about dark aspects of our lives
what was the joke lmao
This is pretty much my take on jokes using darker material. I’m a very sarcastic and facetious guy, so I say jokes in ways that imply I don’t believe what I’m saying, which makes the joke a joke.
Of course, for every person like me there’re ten who say them fully seriously
It’s just a dog whistle and you know exactly the kind of people who do this and what party they vote for
Oh I’m sooooo sorrry if my abject cruelty offended your sensibilities and desire to be treated as a human being.

I want to cherry pick all the volunteering misogynist pricks from the comments section, let them go in a forest and shoot them for sport. With nerf guns, but still.
Right? The point she’s making had zero to do with being a woman, and she didn’t single out men, but some dudes really love to tell on themselves.

Your going to have to explain your comment there, cuz it’s not looking to good for you

ah, so you just assumed she was a “misandrist” because she’s a woman on the internet who has opinions
there’s nothing misogynist about that no sirrrr /s

No, she didn’t say anything about men, but my point is I believe those words have come out of her mouth at one point or another
so tell me, why do you believe those words have come out of her mouth at one point or another?
Ok you see, right there at the end. Thats big incel energy brother. It was wholly unwarranted. This poster made a general statement about trolls pushing the boundaries. This is a human condition thing. If the picture was of some dude, you would not have said anything. Your mind has been poisoned and has you tilting at windmills. You took offense at someone calling out trolls. Why would you automatically be on the defensive?
Normally i wouldn’t extend this energy out. But you seem oblivious to the state you are in. I don’t know if you will accept it, but honestly your best bet is to own this mistake and take a moment to just look at your self.
The warm fuzzy feeling of a chain of DELETED when another incel gets owned. Back to the cave with ye! Vie! Brandishes broom

My dude! Your last paragraph was about how women don’t get to talk about men like that. She never mentioned anything about Schrödingers joke being from men, or a man. You supplied the justification to call her a hypocrite in your own mind. You admit she didn’t mention men, and without missing a beat justified calling her a hypocrite because you assumed she had made comments against men at some point in the past?
And even if she did, it would not be hypocrisy because she did not single out and attack men here. So she could not be a hypocrite in that way. Someone has gotten ahold and poisoned your mind and you now paint your perspective to where random comments are calling you out! The very shadows plot against you! That’s not healthy. And it’s the kind of damage that some rando on the feed ain’t able to fix.
Let me guess: “iT wAs a J0kE bRo!”?
EABOD25: You’re 0 for 2 now.
hahahahahahaha, sure I am

But that person only commented once.

You’ll be glad to know I just spent a good five minutes on her twitter account and she’s not the man hating person you expected this woman you know nothing of to be. You might still exercise caution though, as she might be… a single childless cat lady 😱

Bruh did you even read the original comment you posted lmao

Nope. I used to be exactly like you when I was a 13yo edge lord and I know how you operate. You clearly have a lot of insecurities you don’t know how to deal with so you turn to hate to make yourself feel better.
They’re just joking. They’re exhibiting the same behavior criticized in that meme to mock it further. Unless you’re going along for the joke, in that case don’t mind me
They never put a /s and I have autism so I’m going to take it literally.
God I hate Poe’s law.

Don’t put words in my mouth
I equated someone constantly saying men are the worst with hating on man. I don’t think it’s farfetched. How would you call that? Also putting words in people’s mouth is literally what your comment does so maybe just follow your own advice.
stop being so dramatic
I’ll be as dramatic as I choose to, thank you.
You’d only be proving her point.
He’s actually working undercover for the Big Bear consortium, pushing women to choose the bear one comment at a time.

More bad faith dipshittery.
Lol couchfuckers
If a comment is funny to the person giving it and offensive to the target it’s not a joke, it’s just bigotry.
Gaslighting 101
She’s being so sensitive
The end stage of this is Groypers screaming the N-word at large public events, then filming reaction videos of the results.
