- This goes without saying, every country will levy retaliatory tariffs. It’s one of the reasons random tariffs are such a stupid idea to begin with.

- Trump would probably be just as happy to stop exporting goods to Mexico altogether. Even if Mexico finishes his wall for him. - I forgot what it is that we actually export. Tires? Oranges/Almonds? Military hardware? - A shit ton of electronics, oil, industrial equipment, plastics, and a surprising large amount of agriculture like pork, corn, dairy. - We actually trade a crap ton with Mexico. - I would not have guessed electronics. Usually I think of China, Japan, and South Korea as major suppliers. - If I remember right, it’s a supply chain thing where a ton of stuff gets made in China but is still a US product and sometimes finished here. Think iPhones, for example. Apple is still a US company, it’s not like China can just sell Mexico iPhones direct. - Ps this is also why tariffs are extremely stupid.
