Bit of a wild swim in that wind. Very choppy waves hitting the beach at 45 degrees (usually they’re parallel). Ended up 80m down the beach in a few mins from where my kit was. Certainly wasn’t a south easterly as per BoM but nth. easterly.

So no wave tonight just sand in the wind:

They denied my raise. Apparently doing 45 hour weeks isn’t enough. Go fuck yourselves. Give me insanely difficult clients and then tell me the relationship isn’t great. Pretty much what I expected.

The relationships were damaged significantly from issues between respective leaderships. Very little could be done and none of them had anything but praise for me.

What a bummer. Especially when this place had such promise when you first started. Sounds like you’ve exhausted every avenue and it’s time to move on… Hope you manage to jump this sinking ship soon, seems like nothing but bad news all around.

Sooner you get a new role the sooner you can think about moving house too.

I honestly felt this was the best job I had. Of course, I get anxious thinking “am I overreacting”? But then I remember that we’ve lost close to a dozen people in less than 3 months.

I’ll be out soon hopefully, I’ve got interviews this week.

I’m trying to move house ASAP, but I don’t think I can swing it just yet. But we’ll see.

I’m not as active on here on the weekends as during the week. It’s easier to write something when I’m not worried about two toddlers wrestling on the couch compared to when I’m at work.

Met the new neighbour down here. Dude was born here but moved to the US as an equine vet. Now he’s moved back. Turns out he went to the same school and grandparents lived next to mine. Small world. Seems decent so that’s good. He’ll apparently be back and forth and renting it out as a holiday place in between so might get a few partays to crash.

Yikes. Yeah, there is apparently something with the algorithm that tries to send you down that rabbit hole.

I used to watch canning or gardening videos (ok and maybe a few self sufficiency videos) and started getting recommended religious preppers

Also gaming in general can be a pipeline.

It’s just YouTube. I saw someone share a profile just for their kid to watch videos and there was just a Jordan Peterson video in the recommended.

I see the same thing at work. My work account only has videos related to work and it’s trying to push conservative political shit on me

It sucks. I saw some clips of Asmongold and thought he’d be mildly entertaining to watch, and then it turns out he’s just a massive chud as well. You can watch a bunch of neutral or leftist content and Youtube won’t recommend anything similar, but watch something with even a hint of a rightwing crossover audience and it fills your feed with Daily Wire type shit.

    TW Functional depression, suicidality

Well, I’ve reported the trees in case they fuck up my house. Now to wait and see if I’m once more subjected to crazy aggressive behaviour in retaliation 😔

Melbcat is medicated and fed and resting her sore little self. She’s due her arthritis shot soon. I’m begging for her to perk up because this is scaring me.

Life really kind of sucks and it feels permanent. I can’t even do my hobbies despite the desire to. It’s not even living. All I ever seem to do is struggle and suffer.
