my favorite part of all of this is all the liberal whinging about places like China really hinges on the belief that you have free speech here but not there and now we’re all gonna get locked up for social media posts and shit. wow if I’m gonna have the authoritarianism it’d be nice to have the pro worker policy and constant improvement to society!

sorry you’re living in a liberal bubble where you don’t even realize the statistics neoliberal shits like Stephen Pinker rely on to peddle the image of capitalism improving global poverty draws almost all gains against said poverty from China

Weird how China’s responsible for all that and not, say, India, or the recovery of post- Soviet Russia, it’s almost like, gosh, having a communist party running things results in constant improvements for working people, who’d have thunk it. Quick, what’s the rate of homeownership in China vs the west?? Man, love to be renting until i die, thanks capitalism. It’s worth it for all this free fucking speech

Enjoy your declining standard of living and life expectancy if you live anywhere in the west!

P.s. and soviet Russia took the country from a dirt farming tsarist shithole to a space power in the span of a few decades despite three absolutely devastating wars (WW1, 2, and the civil war) and despite being far behind the rest of Europe’s industry at their start.

It used to be you liberals would cry about how all that was built on the back of gulag slaves or whatever (despite America having the largest prison population both in absolute numbers and per capita, by far, with legalized slavery via the 13th amendment (and more widespread quasi slavery with prisoners paid pennies) and how America is the bastion of free speech. Well, guess what! None of that free speech has done a bit of good, at least not since the democrats entirely sold out to corporate interests. We speak, they listen, the american empire continues to plod along burning working people to death.

So yeah I guess I’m a tankie because if I’m going to live in a shithole without free speech I’ll take the one that actually improves my life. Hey, it’s almost like that’s why the CPC is actually incredibly popular in China, hmmm! (P.s. China’s not a shithole though)

Hmm this really does seem like the opening salvo in a MAJOR escalation that goes beyond mere words or pandering to the base and sets the groundwork for uh not great things.

The Trump administration isn’t only targeting organizations or groups but even individuals and “entities” whom NSPM-7 says can be identified by any of the following “indica” (indicators) of violence:

    • anti-Americanism,
    • anti-capitalism,
    • anti-Christianity,
    • support for the overthrow of the United States Government,
    • extremism on migration,
    • extremism on race,
    • extremism on gender
    • hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family,
    • hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on religion, and
    • hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on morality.

    Breaking this down a bit:

    • extremism on migration,

Clearly to go after anyone against deportations, ICE, etc. Even someone just working the policy and judicial angle as say a lawyer who never attends protests would be a dangerous indicator of terrorism under this.

    • extremism on race,

I have to wonder for some of these if it’s entirely up to the discretion of the cops doing the work or if there’s additional (secret) guidance defining these because on the surface this would certainly seem to suggest support for BLM or anything they deem “anti-white”

    • extremism on gender

As with above I have to wonder if there’s additional secret guidance on the meaning of this one. Obviously trans rights activists (including any trans person who isn’t constantly denouncing their own existence I presume) would fall under this as would any feminists who are for abortion, are against the traditional 1950s Christian Protestant views on family, etc, etc.

The last three in the list are especially broad, vague, and therefore worrying but seem to reinforce the above and remove doubts about what extremism on race and gender are.

With the scotus forbidding Nationwide injunctions there is nothing to stop the administration rounding up Americans and sending them to camps.

That is what that decision was made for. The Supreme Court canceled a former co-equal branch of government from being able to stop an executive branch fully intent on betraying the Republic in every way.

Scotus needs to resign in disgrace for traitorism, and all federalist society hacks need be sidelined. This dumster fire needs to burn out first. Fucking hack traitor cock scum all, by every right [redacted.]

Unrelated, but kinda related. I went back and listened to some early Chapo because it’s been years since I’ve listened. They were seriously debating whether Trump was a fascist or not. I had totally forgotten about that debate in the Discourse TM. It seems like all the doomsayers were right but they called it too early. That means the second Jan 6 will probably not be as funny. First as farce, then as tragedy.

I wish I was around people who at least cared, much less noticed, and weren’t Rightists. They’ll just think I’m exaggerating and paranoid as usual. It’ll probably be time to leave the country soon, guess we’ll see how this goes late 2025 and early 2026.

NSPM-7 is fundamentally a law enforcement directive, and it dispenses with the complications of using the active duty military or the National Guard in pursuit of political violence. It directs the Department of Justice to focus the FBI’s approximately 200 Joint Terrorism Task Forces (JTTFs) to the new mission. The FBI network of task forces comprises over 4,000 members—including FBI personnel and task force officers (or TFOs) from more than 500 state and local agencies and 50 federal agencies, including special agents, police officers, intelligence analysts and surveillance technicians. First established in New York City in 1980 to systematize FBI and NYPD cooperation, today there are task forces around the country, including at least one in each of the FBI’s 55 field offices.

Well there’s the reason he’s attacking Comey and the January 6 fbi agents right now. He’s terrorising them to scare anyone that might drag their feet on this.

Very critical to point out that this 4,000 member task force is not going to be enough to meaningfully enforce mass censorship and political repression across the country. It’ll be a gradual roll-out with the fascists seeking to make an example of groups and individuals that present themselves as easy or particularly prominent targets to try to scare everyone else into submission. That’ll backfire and they won’t really have the resources to handle the backlash without a pretty major mobilization.

Yeah my immediate thought upon reading this and the reason I quoted it was basically “ok so we already know what the exact precise hard limits for their manpower and work are”.

That information alone is valuable. It stops people from thinking “this is a limitless organisation of infinite power we are literally up against the entire United States” which is just not true at all but it’s how people perceive it without hard numbers.

Let me put this another way. I’m in orgs with more manpower than this here in the UK, and I’m sure some of you over there are too. You are bigger than they are.

Kind of looking like all signs are pointing to Trump being the american fascist with this. I know Norman Finkelstein disagrees because he claims there’s no left in the USA, and while I partially agree, like there’s no mass working class movement, I can’t see this as anything but a pre-emptive strike on any fomenting movements.

Finkelstein did not account for the fact that fascists always manufacture an opposition to justify itself regardless of whether there is an organized left domestically. Usually this means targeting a minority, or a perceived foreign threat.

I think Finkelstein’s thing isn’t that fascists need a real opposition to justify themselves, but that the militancy of fascism as a historical trend stems from defending capitalism from militant socialists/unionists/etc., and therefore is completely senseless for the ruling class to allow if it’s not actually fighting something. Obviously there are things like military dictatorships that have existed when the left was non-existent or just a bunch of libs.

It does not matter if there is an organized opposition. The only thing that matters is that Capitalism (in the case of the US, total world domination) is suffering set-backs. The cause of these set-backs does not matter. Even if they are completely self-inflicted, a price must be paid in blood.
