it feels like for the last 15 years or so, since everyone has been too poor to really give a shit, halloween has been basically dead. barely anyone decorated or trick or treated. but now that people all feel like the world is gonna end and have been conditioned to take on extreme amounts of debt, they’re buying all these decorations and trying to out-compete each other to prove who can spend the most on them. it’s terrible but at the same time, i do love the spooky vibes. i love seeing all the kid’s costumes when they knock on my door and telling them i like their costumes. i went for a walk to the store and looked at all the decorated houses in my neighborhood. hasn’t been like this in so long.

one bad thing, the one chud house with a trump sign still up had to incorporate it into their halloween decor too. made a skeleton hold it. so cringe, can’t let kids enjoy a holiday without making it an advertisement for your cult. plus having a sign for a pedophile up with kids knocking on your door is a bad look

I do love seeing all the kids in their adorable costumes.

For me, Halloween is usually just an excuse to dress up as some kind of bear and seek out hugs and snuggles, and eat the leftover candy the day after. I was feeling particularly red this year so I went as a panda bear.

Yeah I actually managed to put out some decorations this year, nothing too fancy, but felt nice to do something for the neighborhood kids. Had a whole group of kids dressed as skeletons with lightsabers come by which was cool.

Kids are rad too. So many late middle/early high school kids we saw were chill and nice to us and our little kids. Telling my 2yo he was cute or saying my 5yo had a great costume. Helping them at the doors.
