    I think she’s more savvy than a lot of her compatriots. She understands that Trump is tanking the MAGA brand and she’s been distancing herself from him basically all of this second term. I don’t trust her at all even when she actually says something approaching agreeable; she’s just using undeniable facts to smuggle in her insane brand of politics. But it’s clear she’s triangulating for the post Trump era of the party while most of them are just stuck in his gravity.

    Someone over at r/TrueAnon had a good take that they think MTG is trying to soft launch becoming the more explicitly fascist arm of the Republican Party after Trump dies, her and Tucker have both started dropping more openly National Socialist takes that fly in the face of traditional “small guberment” American conservatism.

    Whenever I hear something of MTG it seems like she’s extremely propagandized but would otherwise get it. Which is just so incredibly frustrating. Honestly a lot of republican voters have class consciousness but it’s just extremely corrupted by US imperialist, capitalist, and fascist propaganda that they fell for. Which isn’t new either, there was that period of time where you would get beat up in Detroit for driving a Japanese car or even just looking Asian, which I have to think was instigated and encouraged by the bourgeoisie. I mean hell I’ve heard it from the company man at work and my boss, “We have to work harder and longer hours and less carefully becauce we’re competing with China and African countries where they don’t have workplace safety or environmental regulations.” If I rolled my eyes any harder at that I would’ve passed out.

      I don’t know about MTG personally, but I agree with you in a general sense. The USian civil religion of individualism fosters a selfish mindset. That propaganda you speak of is introduced before children even learn to read and speak. But there are bare spots which manifest in this way. I think the Qanon people with their MedBeds and debt jubilee are another example of this phenomenon. (I’m aware they generally have limits on who’d be allowed access to these programs but that’s beside the point I’m trying to make)

      The fascist nature of popular media is nothing new either but I have to wonder if its purveyors haven’t stepped up their game. Social media has definitely proved to be a useful tool for them. They’ll continue co-opting socialist agendas to peel off the exact people you’re talking about, the heavily propagandized but otherwise reachable. I think this is what makes people like Tucker Carlson so dangerous. I count MTG in the same category, I don’t give her the benefit of the doubt like I might for someone’s Meemaw in Tennessee. (Don’t mean to imply you are, of course, I’m just sayin)

        Tucker Carlson is the one where I’m 100% confident he knows exactly what he’s doing, but more importantly that he’s 100% grifting. He doesn’t believe in anything and has no interest in pursuing any kind of office, he’s content raking in millions as a political commentator. With MTG it’s a lot harder to estimate what she understands and what she believes.
