This person gives me “young girl during the Salem witch trials who accused people of being witches to get them killed just for fun and attention, and never faced any repercussions or expressed any guilt for doing so for the rest of her life” vibes
Supernatural horror loosely based on Salem’s 17th century witch trials.
If “loosely” were even remotely true - sexy witches and fantasy tv black magic would be real. One scene of the first episode - there was a rated-PG-ish orgy in the woods. The writhing mass of creatures were covered in black muck. I don’t know what they were. Witches? Demons? Not that it mattered. I loved the episode because it was horrible. But I doubt the series will maintain the high-level of “so bad it’s good” ridiculousness. I’ll probably bail in about a couple episodes when the quality sadly goes up to being awful - or even worse - just bad.
It seems the smart thing is for me to do is to watch season 1 and then stop. Unfortunately - I usually don’t do the smart thing. I predict that when I’m not looking - I’ll sneak over and start watching season 2 before I realize what’s happening. Then a voice in my head will say “Keep going!”
I think I made it through the first season then gave up a few episodes into season 2. I remember getting bored with it because nothing was happening. They’d introduce conflicts, have characters talking to one another about said conflict, then move on without resolving or developing anything.
Seemed like they had a dozen writers and directors all trying to shoehorn their own side plots (IDK for certain cuz I didn’t check the credits).

In a coincidence - I recently watched the first episode of the fantasy tv series Salem.

I had already decided to skip season 3 because the Imdb reviews I glanced at made it seem very bad.
That sounds very unappealing. Season 2 does not seem promising.
No more muck orgies? Downer.
Things get cooler when a certain Mather shows up.
