One thing that always makes me laugh is for most American Christians being a self-proclaimed Christian is just them saying its their lifestyle brand. After a simple intro: “As a Christian…” - they can spew their hatred, racism, etc. It doesn’t work at all if they say something like “As a huge fan of Chick-fil-A… I don’t think trans people should have rights.”

I don’t know what you’re talking about, this is extremely aligned with the Chick-fil-A brand.
But some rightwing turd can’t write a NYT op-ed and use their devout Chick-fil-A fandom as an rationalization/excuse for intolerance.
