My grandmother is a vet who hates Republicans and billionaires. So proud
gram was a nurse and the only thing she hated more than satan was george w bush.
People seem to totally forget how the old people of today were the young people of years passed.
And the environmental movement didn’t start yesterday
I think the problem with GWB was not being a better sociopath like Obama. Obama did much worse but had a nicer mask.
It really is the most selfish generation that exists. They had a great time and bought a house cheap, lived a good life, then pulled the ladder up behind them because fuck everyone else, they won’t live to face their consequences.
tbf, it was only great for some people, those entitled people think they earned it.
Sure, wealthy, white, heterosexual males. Kind sucked for everyone else.
add survivorship bias, it is easier for the privileged to grow old.
the gay community was decimated, so gay elders are rare for example
They’re also living a lot longer. I just watched this video… The last million presidents all born in 40s. And who lives longest? Those with means…
It really is the most selfish generation that exists.
It’s selection bias. Nothing about this generation is meaningfully more selfish than any other.
We just had an enormous population cull after decades of War on Crime/Drugs/Terrorism that chewed up the Evil Socialists and left us with Randroid Libertarians holding the lion’s share of wealth
Have you heard of the Monopoly experiment? Ladder-pulling is what humans do. Even when it’s clearly demonstrated that they only won a rigged game, the winners attributed it to their own skill.
How they act:

How they vote:

Wait… afaik shutterstock sells stock images without a watermark if you pay… so shutterstock is trying to profit off of Hitler images?
actually all proceeds go straight to hitler
Voting statistics don’t quite support this. e.g. in the US, older people are somewhat more likely to vote rightwing than younger people, but the differences are not that large. Other factors are more important, e.g. race, urban vs. rural, religiousness, college education. Those factors do correlate somewhat with age (i.e. older people are more rural, less educated, less religious), but it’s worth it to look at it more closely. There’s a decent chance that your parents’ generation is worse, and your grandfather is likely to be worse than your grandmother.
Have a look at some detailed analysis for the 2024 US election: https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2025/06/26/voting-patterns-in-the-2024-election/
The statistics for Germany tend to look similar. Seniors are more likely to vote rightwing (name CDU/CSU), but a lot of younger men (including gen-X men) vote far right instead.
Gen z men voting conservative has been one of the biggest disappointments in society in my entire life
As always: Propaganda works.
I broke up with my parents a year ago over this.
It doesn’t matter in the US anyway, our democracy is a scam
Actually, can anyone fact check this map for me? I found it online with the ballotpedia logo on it, and I haven’t been able to find where it comes from on the actual ballotpedia website, but I was very surprised to learn it was correct for my state

I’m not saying it’s a scam, but it is really weird how all the elected people happen to be from the same weird rich people club. And some of them are even related.
Probably just a coincidence…
I’m not sure how that would demonstrate democracy is a scam? In Los Angeles County (might vary by county, not sure) you just have to fill out a one page form with basic contact information and submit it to be a write-in candidate. That doesn’t seem like a huge hurdle.
In California at least, being a registered candidate also lets you give a statement about your political stances that gets printed in the election information booklet that gets mailed to all voters. So it would be kind of dumb to not register, when it’s both simple and gives you free voter outreach.
Edit: if you mean the states with no write-ins at all that makes more sense lol
No no it’s much better if you left 300 Million people free from writing their own info.
It’s funnier that way.
Guarantee you’d have 10% for “Trump”. 10% for Donny Trump, some for “Brandon”, and so-on and none would count because none are his legal name.
I would love to see who would win though. Spell the name perfectly and in good penmanship or it doesn’t count. Let’s see if he still loves the poorly educated.
Not sure what you’re saying. It sounds like LA county might be similar to my state, which isn’t good, not a place where every vote is counted.
In my state (Maine), there’s a deadline you have to register before, and you have to pay $10,000 to get votes counted to find out you lost the election if you’re not registered (you do get the money back if you win so this would be a really fitting system for Vegas but not here)
If LA county doesn’t just automatically count all votes without charging each citizen, then it’s insane that you’re defending that (and it’s easy to see how we get a scam democracy if we are in a democracy of people who are ok with it)
I also wouldn’t be surprised if there are issues registration can have, other than the deadline
And my state has ranked choice voting, so I really assumed if any state had actual voting rights, it would be this one
That’s funny, because out ballots in South Carolina have a place to write in entries. I guess they just ignore them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Neurotypicals are all like “oh that’s just how they murder all of us, stop fixating on this one omnicide.”
It’s fun how when rich people do it for evil, they aren’t gaslit about it. Be a Thunberg, not a Musk.
