Cute Russian comic. The home of the official English version is here if anyone wants to skip ahead (or support them): https://boosty.to/gabiconomics-en
Fire safety is a system of measures aimed at preventing fires and minimizing their consequences, ensuring the protection of people, property, and the environment.
I mean, the fire inspector does have a point.
Absolutely, yes: workspace safety is crucial and even before they try to add the forge (in a safer location than right next to the woodwork!) a fire cabinet makes sense in a shop thats got woodworking going on.
Is jumping straight to a fine on their first fire inspection before they’ve even set up the forge warranted? How exactly did the fire inspector end up showing up now?
I’m probably rooting for small-business-owner-gabi too much, but it seemed like a bit of overkill for a first inspection - especially when this universe apparently doesn’t require a lumber mill to provide helmets for workers.
yeah I can’t lie I was actually worried about this lol
Oh 100%
Poor smol bean business owners oppressed by having to confirm to fire codes.
Godspeed Gabby I’m rooting for ya.
This one’s a bit of a callback to the shoe-maker one where you had a shoe-maker without any feet. In this one we’ve got a fire safety inspector with very visible burns.
I am a sucker for these kinds of visual jokes.
I am a sucker for these kinds of visual jokes.
Is it a gag or a bit of background storytelling like the smith lizard’s (war?) injuries? Since his uniform is reminiscent of a firefighter’s bunker gear I read it as either he’s a firefighter who also does inspections and has been injured on the job, or he was a firefighter and now does related bureaucratic stuff for them after being severely injured fighting a fire.
I’ve been glancing at these for a while now, they’re pretty cool and cute.
Straight to a fine, no warnings?

Know what the difference is between God and the Fire Marshal?
God doesn’t think he’s a fire marshal.
I believe in the fire marshal.
and he actually helps people.
greedy asshole companies are the ones who skimp on fire-safety
I’m probably rooting for small-business-owner-gabi too much […] this universe apparently doesn’t require a lumber mill to provide helmets for workers.
I certainly don’t want her to skimp on safety, their track record here has been better than the baseline seems to be, so I’d hope that education would be a sufficient first and final step.
Um, excuse me. Fire safety is fucking NOT capitalism.
That’s right, fire safety is a system of measures aimed at preventing fires and minimizing their consequences, ensuring the protection of people, property, and the environment.
