          Defending an aggressor from counterattacks isn’t self-defence. An Italian air defense battalion participating in Operation Barbarossa could not be said to be acting in self-defence despite the nature of its armaments.

            Not quite sure Cyprus is quite the aggressor you’re making it seem, the base wasn’t used to attack Iran and Europe has stayed out of the war only acting in a self defence position

            I’m also not sure if your idea of Cyprus being an aggressor is even shared by the IRGC themselves

            Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said Saturday that Tehran will stop attacking neighboring countries unless attacks on Iran originate from those territories

            In a televised address on state television, Pezeshkian apologized to countries in the region that had been struck during the conflict.
