ever since Tucker Carlson has been independent he’s somehow attracted the attention of liberals and even a few leftists. a lot of them will act like they’re doing so begrudgingly, like they hate to say something good about him but hey when he’s right he’s right.

Tucker Carlson does not have principles. He has demonstrated this time and time again and has been a puppet for the far-right as soon as they started becoming his primary audience. Carlson realizes the MAGA cult is fracturing. he’s laying low right now because it’s the safest route to become a vocal polemicist in the public eye again. if he disavows Trump, he can pretend he was always “one of the good ones.” literally nothing he is criticizing Trump for is anything he gave a fuck about with any other Republican president. Trump has done some unique shit but a lot of his horrible positions are from the Republican playbook spoon fed to him.

please, he doesn’t give a fuck that AIPAC is funding our congress. he’s just mad it isn’t the group he supports. he’s upset that he isn’t benefiting. and you are legitimizing his attempt at manipulating people when you praise him for creating merch that exploits how real people with a soul feel (unlike Carlson).

Tucker Carlson’s grift is slightly different in nature than other conservative grifters like Ben Shapiro or Sean Hannity. While the latter two hosts presume we live in an optimal society which the the scapegoat of the week is trying to ruin, Tucker Carlson acknowledges real structural problems in our present system and then scapegoats the minority of the week for those real problems.

it was disappointing. i know they were approaching it from mockery but they genuinely praised the comedy of his merch, and just… don’t even do that, honestly. we are so far into fascism we cannot humanize any of these fucking people.
It was surprisingly hard to find, but if you put “Tucker Carlson Blake Neff fishing” into a search engine, you can find Tucker’s non-apology and non-explanation for having a Neo-Nazi “top writer” on his staff (up to 2020).

He’s a carnival barker. That’s it. Whatever gets him the most money is his angle. Just like Trump. The best thing we can do is ignore he exists.
Are people praising him? I’ll admit I haven’t looked much, but very little would redeem that man for me. He’d have to solve world hunger or reverse climate change or something for me to reconsider my opinion of him.
There’s a saying about broken clocks that applies here. Carlson is broken, so naturally he’d be right twice per day.
I’m used to being distrustful of people who speak well of Carlson, so this will be easy
