So excited to have recently moved back here. At least I can be one more remain vote.
You won’t get the chance to vote “remain”, because this referendum isn’t asking if we should “remain”, it’s just "should we have a referendum in which we ask the question ‘should we remain’ "
It’s a vote to decide if we should have a vote. And even this won’t pass. Polling shows “leave” at like 23%. It’s a fucking joke.
Y???
Why move back? Just, life stuff.
Wat are your neighbors like? Is Alberta really Canada’s Texas?
Well, I’ve only lived in the urban centres so I haven’t really lived among the worst of it. Having moved from a small city in northern BC to Edmonton my immediate environment feels significantly less, ah, reactionary actually, haha. But the rural areas of the province are among the most conservative in the country and unfortunately the way ridings are here rural areas are disproportionately represented in the legislature which makes following provincial politics very aggravating.
Ugggh
Another good argument in favor of proportional elections.
Well that’s Smith’s political demise, shows the danger of relying on right-wing wackadoodles for support.
The separatists crying that she has lost their suppprt just makes me smile inside. Now all Albertans are either mad that they’re getting a referendum question about having a referendum, or that Smith has fostered this madness forward at every its-obviously-a-dead-horse turn.
Sad thing is all the UCP voters will still be most likely to vote UCP next time 🙄
Truly the dumbest politics in Canada.
Are we confident that people want to have a referendum on whether to have a referendum to separate from Canada? The Smith government isn’t going far enough.
I suggest Alberta call a vote on whether people should vote on holding a vote to separate from Canada.
Could we toss in a few announcement about the announcement of the to be announced announcement?
In the future the bill names will look as if Hermes wrote them while drunk
