For sure! I’m an Aussie and I wanna get rid of that shit. Not just because I’m a major sci fi nerd (well, a big reason) but I’ve always been partial to the Aussie flag as depicted in Event Horizon.

Brazil. Mostly because it has text. Actually, reading about the flag and its history has made me appreciate it more. FUCK! I’m changing my answer to Malaysia for copying my country’s flag.

Four bars is already too many, adding a big red line down the middle is not helping, and tbh if you took away the star it’d at least be symmetrical.

If your flag is gonna be busy, at least be creative and put like a dragon or something on it.

    Sorry CAR.

Yours obviously. Terrible design and awful colour choice. Not completely surprising from such a backwards country but I have to admit you raised the ugliness bar to a whole new level. Matches well with your ridiculous anthem and your stupid traditions (incest and cannibalism are still a thing I’ve heard).

My country on the other hand… now that’s some nice flag design: good palette, great inspiration, high symbolic value. Very nice. Pairs well with our melodic anthem and our respectable traditions (like ritual ‘feast of the elders’ and ceremonial family acts of love)

Basically any flag that’s just 3 colored bars. They’re so boring and there are so many that it’s hard to even differentiate them.

Flags should say something about your country.

Australia & New Zealand. The two are too similar and IMO keeping the Union Jack on your flag while being an independent nation adds to the confusion. Canada had the right idea with the maple leaf.

    Wales.
There’s something seriously wrong with that dragon.
It’s got a tail as its tongue, a hook-nose, fluffy ears,
an air cushion frontal neck, a fishnet back neck
and a look so annoyed that
if flag dragons could talk I’d swear it would say
“Don’t look at me, my mom put me up for this”.

At least it has a dragon. Scotland’s flag is sorely missing a unicorn, and others are lacking in mythical creatures too :-/

At least it has a dragon.

        I’ll give you that.
But still, if you’re gonna make a flag with a dragon on it,
don’t make it look like a botched art restoration.

Same goes for Bhutan by the way,
which is the most awesome dragon flag in the world,
        holding dragonballs and all that,
but then they forgot to color it in.

Dragons in old English stories too so it’s not even specifically a Welsh thing. Just another reason to have one on the UK flag.

I’d have to dig into the archives but all of Britain was once the Welsh, till the ‘English’ invaders pushed them into the pocket of land they are in now. I wonder if the Union Jack specifically left off the dragon, as to not recognize the welsh folk lore, or claim of an independent group like the rest of flags on it

Which invasion? There were a few… To say it was all Welsh seems a bit odd. Everywhere has been invaded at least a few times.

I think the most well known ones here would be Roman, Anglo Saxon, Viking and Norman.

Well one of them was based on the other…

But hey, don’t hate on our 400+ year old colour choice! 🇳🇱
