That sounds like a terrible idea. I don’t remember what questions the application asks, so I’ll wing it.

Why do you want to be a mod?

    I don’t, please don’t make me.

    What’s your moderation philosophy?

Ban first, ask questions never, they clearly deserved it. I should be able to delete comments/posts from anyone.

Two users are arguing and reporting each others posts, what do you do?

    Whose side am I on?

You really don’t care about the argument.

    Ban them both.

They’re arguing about whether frogs or toads are cooler, though, does that really mean you’d ban them both?

You said I didn’t have a side. I guess I’d give whoever’s on team toad a warning instead of a ban. E: this was too ambiguous. The person on team frog gets neither.

You’re going to cause endless struggle sessions.

I told you not to make me a mod.

Which comms do you want to mod?

I’m serious, please don’t make me. If you really still insist after I’ve failed this application, at least let me make Trying2ModMyself first.

For what it’s is worth I don’t think it would be a terrible idea. You are just as qualified as any other and clearly care about an issue with the site. There are no expectations or obligations beyond removing posts or comments that violate the code of conduct. That said I’m sure you know yourself better than I so I will respect your decision either way and I do thank you for the reports and callouts they are appreciated
