Not a good sign if the behavior changed recently. If it has always done that it’s probably just the design. Ied lamps have an led driver in there and they generate a lot of waste heat at the power transistor and the led itself. I’ve had a few go bad due to bad thermal design. Had a led pole lamp that fried once and created a burning smell. I took it apart and board had burn marks and melted componants. If it is a flouro, hps or similar might be what hotspur mentioned
no burning smell, and switching the bulb for another bulb from another lamp hasn’t made it turn off quicker (Although it has made it light up brighter)
It might be LED? I don’t actually know, it was the cheapest bulb in the store and I bought it forever ago.
